It seems like half the fandom is (understandably!) chomping at the bit for the next trailer for The Last Jedi. But, if the past is anything to go on, we still likely have nearly a month to go.
It’s here, and boy are we going to be arguing about this one. Looks like we’re going deep into the Jedi issue, and Luke’s (understandably) reluctant to train Rey. Or has he discovered a new way? During the panel, Daisy Ridley implied that “meeting your heroes” often means you won’t find them to be as you might expect.
The metaphysical debate will have to wait – though it’s being acted out all over the OCCC right now – and let’s get down to some actual info.
She’s not in the trailer, but we learned during the panel that Kelly Marie Tran’s character is Rose. She’s a Resistance maintenance worker who gets drawn into the story. Meanwhile, the new planet with the red dust is (officially) Crait, per Rian Johnson.
HBO has a new trailer for the documentary Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, which debuts Saturday.
Fisher is also one of two stars (along with George Michael) sharing the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. This issue will also have a feature on Reynolds.
Rebels returns Saturday, and as such here’s a new trailer for the rest of season three. In addition to Saw Gerrera, looks like we’re getting more Thrawn, Mandos, and a few surprises.
Lucasfilm has also released a few images from the two-part mid-season premiere, ‘Ghosts of Geonosis.’ See the rest of them under the cut.
Announced this afternoon on The Star Wars Show: The Rogue One one-sheet and the news that the new trailer will debut Thursday morning on Good Morning America.
We also learn what Marvel’s next ongoing comic is although be warned, there are spoilers for Darth Vader #25. (And next time we mention it we’ll be much less coy.) But for now, check out that poster.
We’ve got a jumbo episode of Star Wars Story Talk (AKA the show formerly known as Unboxing Star Wars) as Yowie the Skunk, Baby Jawa, and I cover a whole sandcrawler-load of the latest in Star Wars stories. Baby Jawa does her first reaction video, watching the Rogue One trailer, and Yowie and I talk a bit about Star Wars Celebration Europe, San Diego Comic-Con and review Aftermath: Life Debt, the new novel by Chuck Wendig! Plus a little update on Wear Star Wars Every Day, a visit from a Loth-cat, and of course some Baby Jawa fun time!
Quick reviews
→ Trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – I am really excited for this movie and this trailer just pushes it up another notch. But how will Baby Jawa react to her first movie trailer viewing?
→ Star Wars Celebration Europe – Big thumbs up! A whole ton of fun and a lot of work. Plus seeing old friends and making new ones while in London!
→ Star Wars at San Diego Comic-Con – Even though there wasn’t a big movie panel, Star Wars still brought a lot to San Diego, including the Rogue One costume display and the publishing panel.
→ Star Wars: Aftermath – Life Debt – Chuck Wendig increases the scale and brings in some favorite film characters into the post-ROTJ era as the heroes help track down Han Solo as he’s disappeared while trying to liberate Kashyyyk. Solid read!
→ Loth-Cat Plush from Star Wars Celebration Europe – A big hit! Mrowwwl! Help me come up with a name for this grinning feline!

Io9/Gizmodo has an exclusive trailer setting the stage for the hour-long season finale for Star Wars Rebels. Heralding a confrontation between Darth Vader and Ahsoka Tano, this trailer reflects on their growth and relationship during the Clone Wars, and ends with a glimpse into their upcoming encounter, complete with a James Earl Jones voiceover. Lots of clips from The Clone Wars highlight their history together, as well as some the individual challenges they faced. Does this bode well for their meeting on Rebels?
Find out on March 30 with the hour-long season two finale of Star Wars Rebels on Disney XD, 9 pm ET/PT. When you think about it, neither Ahsoka nor Vader is a main character of the show, and yet the season finale focuses on these two re-uniting, and igniting their sabers against each other.
We’ve already seen Leia, but Entertainment Weekly has the full trailer for the remainder of Rebels – including a few things that may surprise you. (Dave Filoni warned about ‘spoilers’ yesterday.)
