The Knights of Ren show up in the latest Rise of Skywalker TV spot, which also includes new shots of Kylo, Poe, Threepio, the Star Destroyer space battle and a Sith trooper.
Empire has revealed two new photos over the weekend, one another shot of Finn, Rey, Threepio and Poe in the cave, and another of the Sith troopers.
A new poster has been spotted over in Germany. Big news here is that it contains a porg, the first sign that our smallest Last Jedi faves might make an appearance in the new film.
Rise of Skywalker novelization cover revealed and other news
The cover for Rae Carson’s The Rise of Skywalker novelization has been revealed, and like The Last Jedi‘s, it takes design cues from an early poster – this time, the one revealed at Disney’s D23 Expo.
Also like TLJ, the novel will be coming out well after the movie – in March.
In an interview with Empire, Colin Trevorrow is fairly gracious about The Rise of Skywalker, and reveals that he was there when J.J. pitched bringing back Palpatine. Trevorrow was announced as IX director in August 2015 – before The Force Awakens was even out – so the two directors would certainly have crossed paths. He also revealed that he asked The Last Jedi’s Rian Johnson to include the moment where Poe and Rey officially meet.

Thanks to the New York Times, we finally have a decent copy of one of the first stills from The Rise of Skywalker that was originally revealed at Celebration Chicago.
There’s also a new image of Finn from USA Today’s holiday movie preview. John Boyega says that he aimed for Finn to “to eventually find his place and to have a team that he’s fighting for” without losing his strong personality along the way. “I wanted to show him in a light that shows growth and more of an understanding of his world and of the people in it.”
