The cover for Rae Carson’s The Rise of Skywalker novelization has been revealed, and like The Last Jedi‘s, it takes design cues from an early poster – this time, the one revealed at Disney’s D23 Expo.
Also like TLJ, the novel will be coming out well after the movie – in March.
In an interview with Empire, Colin Trevorrow is fairly gracious about The Rise of Skywalker, and reveals that he was there when J.J. pitched bringing back Palpatine. Trevorrow was announced as IX director in August 2015 – before The Force Awakens was even out – so the two directors would certainly have crossed paths. He also revealed that he asked The Last Jedi’s Rian Johnson to include the moment where Poe and Rey officially meet.
Empire has also revealed their Rise of Skywalker covers. The January 2020 issue will have three collectible covers and one subscriber cover, and also comes with a bonus “Skywalker Saga” magazine and a Dark Rey art card illustrated by Rory Kurtz. They’ll be on sale November 28 in the U.K., and who knows when here in the states.
Next week actual Star Wars promotion begins, kicking off Monday, November 25 with J.J. Abrams appearing on Good Morning America, Live with Kelly and Ryan, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert while Daisy Ridley heads to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Tuesday, November 26 has Daisy doing the GMA and Kelly rounds, with Oscar Isaac taking the night shift on Late Night With Seth Myers. Wednesday, November 27 is all John Boyega, as he heads to GMA, Live with Kelly and Fallon.
