I’m hearing that DK’s Blueprints: Rebel Edition should be in stores now. (You could probably also keep an eye out for Year by Year, though technically it’s not being released until the 16th.) As for comics, Dark Horse is sending out the print Threat of Peace #2 for Wednesday.
Green and Senreich talk up Star Wars comedy show
io9 caught up with Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, and got a few todbits on both their Star Wars comedy show and the third Robot Chicken: Star Wars special. Here’s a little more on the timeline:
“It’ll be sketches all over the canon, but there will be a more linear canon… actually from before the first prequel to Return Of The Jedi,” says Green.

A familiar face joins HBO’s Game of Thrones. Julian Glover, who you’ll remember as General Veers from Empire Strikes Back and Walter Donovan from his face-melting turn in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, has joined the cast of HBO’s adaption as Grand Maester Pycelle. He replaces Roy Dotrice, who had to step out for health reasons.
Torn from the headlines. NPR gives some love to #Wookieeleaks, the hashtag that took Twitter by storm last week.
Airbender successor series won’t be ongoing. UGO snatched some time with co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko at SDCC to bend a few new details on the upcoming Legend of Korra. Chief among them: It’s mini-series. But that does mean that DiMartino and Konietzko are writing each episode. This has done very little to temper my excitement. Maybe because I keep running into stuff like this.

Celebration V: The holy schedule, blessed be its name
Reed warns us that the schedule isn’t totally complete just yet, but the bulk of the panels are there. A few highlights:
- Pablo’s Behind-The-Scenes Stage will host panels on Fate of the Jedi, Knight Errant (with exclusive,) ’30 Years of Lucasfilm Licensing with Howard Roffman’ and Gary Kurtz, all on Saturday.
- Author panels on writing in the Project Room & Lecture Hall from Troy Denning (Friday at 5:30), Christie Golden (Saturday at 3:30) and Aaron Allston (Saturday at 5:00)
- Get started early on the EU when ‘Star Wars Galaxy with the Essential Guides’ will take over the Behind-The-Scenes Stage on Thursday at 1:30. CJ’s own Helen Keier will be making her first Celebration apperance along with fellow writers Jason Fry, Pablo Hidalgo, Dan Wallace, and Ryder Windham, plus artists Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss. Could we get an announcement or two?
- EU Cantina is hosting a Friday panel on The Essential Atlas.
- Bryan Young (The Star Wars Examiner, Big Shiny Robot) is moderating “Why We Love the Prequels,” also on Friday.

EUbits: Sideshow might actually get around to making a Mara Jade figure. No, really!
Namesake corner. Mara Jade gets a namedrop in Sideshow’s SDCC video, which leads me to believe that we might actually see a figure before we all die of old age. Alas, it’s pretty much the same thing they said last time, regarding the Adam Huges painting. Skip straight to 2:40 for the brief clip.
Comic-Con is so last week. There were copies of Year by Year on sale at in San Diego, but the rest of us will just have to settle for a con report.

The part of me that spends way too much time on Twitter wants to give this the ‘No Shit, Sherlock’ award of the day, but what the hell: Sue Rostoni (when asked) says that the Big 3’s last adventure “isn’t happening in this contract period.” Not even for Stover.
(At least he didn’t ask about Zahn?)
New from Sue: Darth Plagueis novel resurrected
This morning, NJOE posted about a listing they’d found for a James Luceno Darth Plagueis novel scheduled for 2012. I was doubtful (after all, the book was canceled) but it was brought to the VIP thread, where Sue confirmed that the book has indeed risen from the dead:
Yes, apparently a database has leaked this upcoming hardcover that will follow Palpatine’s rise to power and his Master, Plagueis. “Not Yet Published” should have read: “Not Yet Announced.”
I’m very hesitant about this: I believe that Palpatine’s backstory, like Yoda’s, is one the EU should give a wide berth, and I can’t fathom that it’s possible to do that effectively with story of his Sith Master.
(Of course, given what I really want out of this story, it’s probably for the best that I don’t make these decisions.)
Sue also said this book is not the replacement for Imperial Commando #2 (we might hear more on that next week) and that no more adult Clone Wars novels are planned through the end of the current contract.

It’s a lonely week, but at least there’ll be one thing waiting for the comic geeks on Wednesday: Invasion: Rescues #3.
