Twilight snarkster Cleolinda, whose book recaps are much beloved of many Jaders, has recapped the franchise’s fourth film.
Ewan McGregor lands The Corrections pilot for HBO
Yet another reason to get HBO. Obi-Wan actor (and favorite of many in Club Jade) Ewan McGregor will play the role of Chip in The Corrections. The show is based on the award-winning 2001 novel by Jonathan Franzen, which was a best-seller and early pick of Oprah’s Book Club. (Franzen was the author who was infamously less than thrilled for his book to be chosen by the talk-show host.)
While the article states this is McGregor’s first television series, it’s technically not true — one of his first jobs was starring in the UK series Lipstick On Your Collar.
Not that we’re obsessed, or anything.
Science fiction author Anne McCaffrey has passed away
The beloved science fiction author – best known for her Dragonriders of Pern novels – has passed away, reports Galleycat.
She passed away at her home in Ireland following a stroke says her publisher. She was 85, and is survived by two sons and a daughter.
McCaffrey published her first novel, Restoree, in 1967. She later became the first woman to win a Hugo for fiction and the first woman to win a Nebula, plus became the first female science fiction author to appear on The New York Times best seller list with The White Dragon in 1978.
The Pern books were some of the first ‘adult’ books that I read, and one of my earlier obsessions. While I drifted away from the series a decade ago, it still remains one of my early favorites. McCaffrey was not without her faults, but her books – with their focus on female protagonists when such things were uncommon in the genre – opened up the world of SF/F to many of us.

Star Wars Identities exhibition to start in Montreal in 2012
Star Wars Identities has been revealed! Lucasfilm is launching a new Star Wars-themed traveling museum exhibition in 2012. Using the characters of Anakin and Luke Skywalker as examples, the exhibition explores the core concepts of human identity, both in the real world and for fictional characters: their origins, influences, and choices. Lucasfilm and Montreal’s X3 Productions, its partner on the Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology traveling exhibition, will be using a collection from the Lucasfilm Archives to develop an interactive journey that will allow visitors to go on a quest to develop their own personal Star Wars identity.
Star Wars Identities will run at the Montreal Science Centre from April 19 through September 16, 2012 before hopefully touring other museums around the world. Go to the exhibition’s official website at starwarsidentities.com/. Looks like Dunc’s guess on what Identities would be just impacted on the surface.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology exhibit, which premiered this year at the Montreal Science Centre, will be opening in the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum in Valencia, Spain this December, and running through September 2012.
