Star Wars: In Concert coming to Canada

Ticketmaster is now showing a date for Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on Thursday, November 26. (AKA Thanksgiving for those of us on this side of the border, which hopefully means more tickets for the Canadians.) The presale has already started.

(Americans, please remember you need a passport to cross the border now – and getting one can take several months to process – so keep that in mind before buying tickets for this show.)

More east coast dates for Star Wars: In Concert

A couple more dates have shown up on the Star Wars: In Concert listing on Ticketmaster. The concert website is listing a few of them, but none later than November 12.

  • Nov. 6: North Charleston, SC; North Charleston Coliseum. (On-sale: 9/23)
  • Nov. 7: Charlotte, NC; Time Warner Cable Arena. (On sale now.)
  • Nov. 11: Providence, RI: Dunkin’ Donuts Center. (On-sale: 9/23)
  • Nov. 14 (two shows:) Boston MA; TD Garden. (On-sale: 9/23)
  • Nov. 17: Wilkes-Barre, PA; Wachovia Arena. (On-sale: 9/23)
  • Nov. 28 (two shows:) Auburn Hills, MI; The Palace of Auburn Hills. (On-sale: 9/23)
  • Nov. 29: Pittsburgh, PA; Mellon Arena. (On-sale: 9/23)
  • Dec 2: Columbus, OH; Nationwide Arena. (On-sale: 10/01)

UPDATE: I set my location in Ticketmaster and it’s now showing me two shows set for The Palace of Auburn Hills (outside Detroit) on Saturday, November 28 (3:30 and 8:00pm.) Neither were showing up earlier, but they may just have been added later today. (I can’t believe we rate a Saturday.)

UPDATE 2: And now they’re showing Columbus for December 2!

SDCC ’09 quickie: CV, ‘In Concert’ comes to America

First off, TFN was reporting earlier that something from Hasbro was touting a 2010 Celebration V. (Their website now says “the next Star Wars Celebration.”) Presumably TFN caught an earlier version, but the site seems to be a victim of SDCC web traffic, and it’s down.

musical1As for official announcements, we now have the details of the Star Wars: In Concert (aka The Musical Journey) ‘worldwide’ tour, courtesy of a spiffy (and noisy) new site, The tour begins in Anaheim, California in October, with furthur dates in Pheonix, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle, Portland, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Presumably more dates, perhaps more international ones or even something in the general vicinity of Detroit, are forthcoming.

And finally, The Force Trainer is now in the Star Wars Shop.

Musical Journey, other event updates

So I was checking out the Google News Search yesterday, as one does, and what should appear but – lo! – A Musical Journey, which starts tonight! And so, the BBC has a tour of the companion exhibition.

As for other upcoming events of note, has the Star Wars Weekends 2009 guest list (Heavy on The Clone Wars; Jay Laga’aia and Ashley Eckstein share hosting duties.) and a video of Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter going up in Indianapolis for The Clone Wars exhibit.
