More Gatey Goodness!

Joe Mallozzi continues to share the love with the Stargate fans by posting pictures from filming of the latest Stargate Atlantis episode in production. And there are shots of a certain guest star rehearsing who will look just a wee bit familiar to SG1 fans. (Yeah, baybee!) And another guest star who has been requested by many of the SGA fans. (Another “yeah, baybee” from me!)

Needless to say, since this is filming for Season 4, this means that you could be a wee bit spoiled for Season 4. So don’t get whiny about it!

In semi-related news, SciFi posts a short interview with SG1 actorMichael Shanks in which he describes what is sure to be the “riveting” storyline for his upcoming SciFi Saturday movie MegaSnake.

Gee. You think this movie will have snakes in it?

Gero Talks Stargate

GateWorld is featuring an interview with Martin Gero done in March. (Why it takes them so long to transcribe and post these things is a mystery.) Some changes have already occurred since the interview took place, but it’s still a great insight into the “soft reset” of Season 3, the new world of Season 4 and life without SG1.

Speaking of life and SG1, want a chance to own a little SG1 history? MGM is offering the chance to win one of the nifty 10th Anniversary watches.

Stargate Round-Up

Yes. I agree. Silly of me to go away on a business trip the week after Nerd Prom. So much Gate-geeky news coming out of there.

– Atlantis floats on over to a 10pm Friday time slot, starting September 28th
– GateWorld summarizes the rather giggly panels at Comic-Con
David Hewlett celebrates the nerd love with an editorial on SciFi
– David also breaks the news to those who haven’t seen his fiancee in person that the Stargate Baby Factory continues to be alive and well. (So that would be in addition to Joe Flanigan, Robert Cooper, and Rachel Luttrell this season alone!)
– Producer Joe Mallozzi makes the SCB Campaign happy with pictures of the happy return of Carson Beckett
– More on the big, honkin’ full series box set and its extras. Y’know. For those of us who haven’t been collecting these for years and would have to spend a lot of money just to get those bonus features. (Not that I’m bitter, or anything.)

Stargate News from Comic-Con

For the tenth year in a row, Stargate had a presence at San Diego Comic-Con. (Apparently, this year they were giving away free haircuts if you agreed to cut in and/or spray on a Stargate logo.)

This year, they were pushing the upcoming SG1 straight-to-DVD movies. Sadly, it looks like they’re going to be delaying their release a little to get some better effects completed. Ark of Truth will now be coming out in the Spring and Continuum will now be coming out in the fall of 2008. But the happy news was that third series is still going!

Producer Joe Mallozzi got lots of pictures of the cast and crew who attended (along with his usual list of all foods available).

And David Hewlett reports that if any of the SGA cast looked particularly stupid in their panel, it was all due to being unable to hear each other.

Stargate Stuff

For a franchise that’s on summer hiatus, there’s still a lot of activity out there.

GateWorld spoke with Robert Cooper about the end of Stargate SG1. Find out all sorts of interesting tidbits about how things might have ended and what’s coming our way in the straight-to-DVD movies.

Cute pictures from their sister franchise, Stargate Atlantis, straight from the recent set tour. (David Hewlett’s jacket. Love it? Or hate it?)

And SyFy Portal surfs the YouTube so you don’t have to. (Oh. And the article starts with some show called Jericho.)

Stargate Roundup: Wraiths and babies and effects…oh my!

SciFi hosted a media tour on various Vancouver area show sets this week. The stories are now starting to flow:

No Stargate movies until 2008. Are all those nifty effects causing it?
The Wraith are bringing sexy back.
The SG1 finale gets it some Nielson love
– And Sam has her hands full, as does Rachel Luttrell. But the women are going to get some good stuff in Season 4!

As always, mild spoilerage for upcoming events. Tread at your own risk.

Stargate SG1: A Tribute and An Interview

Some interesting stuff out there after SG1’s bow.

GateWorld has put together a lovely tribute to the show that is a combination fan tribute and cast/crew tribute. Full of lovely pictures that haven’t been seen other places, it’s well worth making your way through all the pages.

GateWorld also posted an interview with Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) that not only talks about the next stage of SG1, but includes what they were thinking when they acted out “that scene.”

Goodbye, SG1, and Thanks for the Replicators

Tonight is the series finale of Stargate SG1. And while we might be comforted by the fact that we know two more movies are coming out, it’s still a bit nostalgic. (Plus, the finale has gotten rave reviews from those in Canada who have already seen it.)

If you have a spare $200 lying around, GateWorld somehow got the extra 1,000 copies of a memory book made for the SG1 cast and crew. You can get it, along with a cast member’s autograph, for $200. Of particular cuteness is the article describing the pack of cast and crew dogs who have the run of the studios. (I wish I hadn’t spent so much money at CIV.)

There are also a few tribute articles to be found:
