At least two fully-clothed Leia figures coming to the Black Series, according to a couple new reports. We don’t know if they’ll be the larger figures or the smaller ones, but one is the Boussh disguise, and the second is likely the ceremonial version from A New Hope.
Christmas in July: 2014’s Hallmark Star Wars ornaments in stores now
Okay, all (well, most of) the new Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornaments, not just the Star Wars ones are available for purchase today, but whatever. Quibbles. Brave the rush to pick up the ‘The Rise of Lord Vader’ (FrankenVader from the end of Revenge of the Sith,) a scout trooper, the cantina band and/or a LEGO Boba Fett.
A Santa Yoda Peekbuster won’t be available until October, because Hallmark, just like Santa Maul, wants you to hone your rage. (Where is my Santa Maul ornament, Hallmark? Even the LEGO version would be acceptable.)
We first saw the 2014 ornaments nearly a year ago, at SDCC, which means our first look at the next crop is right around the corner.
Her Universe announces Marvel products
Her Universe has announced the first wave of their new Marvel line! There’s more coming, including a Loki dress, Ashley Eckstein tells The Daily Dot. A Black Widow hoodie will be available at San Diego Comic Con. And Ashley herself will be voicing Dagger of Cloak and Dagger in the animated Ultimate Spider-Man.
The line is also part of Marvel’s own “Characters and Creators” initiative, which is targeting women and girls. (The new Ms. Marvel is an earlier example.)
Disney is selling a lot of lightsabers
Disney is selling a lot of lightsabers. 10 million a year, in various forms from keychains to the expensive collectibles. We can also expect to start seeing Rebels products in August.
Out this (and last) week: Son of Dathomir #2, Star Wars #18 and the Mara Jade Bishoujo statue
JadeCon prep meant I never did a new release post last week, so naturally there were several last Wednesday.
This Wednesday, however, brings us Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #2.While you’re at the comic ship, you can pick up last week’s books, Star Wars #18 and the third Dawn of the Jedi trade collection, Force War. Last week also saw Star Wars Insider #150 make it out to the newsstands.
Also on the shipping list for this week? Kotobukiya’s Mara Jade Bishoujo statue. The list is for comic shops, but it’s also on Amazon if you’re so inclined. (It doesn’t seem folks were too impressed, but keep in mind this may very well be the last Mara Jade merchandise ever…)
Have Marvel and Her Universe made an alliance?
We know that Her Universe is expecting to announce several new liscensees, and if this Captain America shirt (prematurely?) available for order on ThinkGeek is any indication, Marvel is indeed one of them. Unless Ashley is suddenly modeling other lines… (Via @Shadadukal)
Note the shirt itself looks pretty familiar… (h/t @Jessin2D)
UPDATE: And here’s a Captain America tank at Hot Topic. (h/t @brownjawa)
