You couldn’t step into The Force Awakens exhibit without seeing at least a dozen cameras snapping away, so I have no doubt you’ve seen much of this already. There may be many like it, but under the cut is mine. Continue reading “Photos: The Force Awakens exhibit at Celebration Anaheim”
Rumors: New Hasbro releases point to a digital saga release in the spring; When will The Force Awakens toys hit?
Jedi News is all over toys today. They say there are Hasbro box sets of prequel and original trilogy stuff due out “to support the digital releases of the films.” That rumor has been floating around for a while now – last time it was fall 2014 – but if there’s any truth to the toy stuff, it’s a lot more evidence than anything else we’ve had lately. Capitalizing on May 4th makes plenty of sense.
Of course said box sets are completely lacking Padme and Leia figures, because that’s just how things are, right ladies?
But onto The Force Awakens – Episode VII LEGO stuff apparently has a street date of September 4th, and there will be a Millennium Falcon and an X-wing among them.
UPDATE: Making Star Wars has a source who backs up the release date, and adds something new: Kylo Ren will be on all the packaging.
Rumors: Helmets, Darths and other The Force Awakens theories
Making Star Wars isn’t done yet, and in response to yesterday’s apparent reveal of Kylo Ren’s helmet, Jason takes a look at various peices of concept art and speculates as to what they may mean for the character – or some character, anyway – and how they may or may not connect to our previous villains. This draws on a few things we’ve seen and heard before, so experienced spoiler hounds only.
Leaked photo of The Force Awakens action figures?
TheForce.net brings us a leaked photo of action figures for The Force Awakens. The picture originates in a Chinese forum and features four trailer characters (Rey and Finn are in different costumes, Kylo Ren head-on, BB-8 looking pretty much the same) and an old pal from the original trilogy. These could be fakes, I suppose, but who knows? (Picture, more thoughts in the comments.)
Spoilerphobes beware: Indie Revolver has taken this opportunity to show us concept art of Ren’s helmet.
The Force Awakens character names revealed!
Lucasfilm and Entertainment Weekly have paired up to give us character names from The Force Awakens – in trading card form. Daisy Ridley is Rey, John Boyega is Finn and Oscar Isaac plays Poe Dameron. The ball droid is BB-8 (which I’m guessing is pronounced/abbreviated as ‘Bebe,’) and our mysterious villain is Kylo Ren. The card numbers have some significance as well – a mystery to chew on… In addition to Finn and Rey’s last names.
This also puts to bed a popular theory that Gwendoline Christie could be playing the character we now know as Kylo Ren, referring to “his lightsaber.”
UPDATE: One fan has already done the matchwork: Rey, Poe and BB line up nicely, Kylo not so much… Unless… Threepio?!?
