Mark Stafford made a Naboo Fighter for the Steam Wars contest – and it’s pretty damn cool. Even aside from the sheer brilliance of a navigation monkey. Check out more entries at the second link. (via)
Dumbleduff takes on Hogwarts
Harry Potter fans may want to tune into Ace of Cakes this Thursday, when Duff and company at Charm City Cakes create a bakery masterpiece for the Los Angeles Harry Potter premiere. The incessant Food Network promos have been featuring several Potter stars, including Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
Now, when are we going to get a Star Wars cake some episode face time?
The fandom minute: Nothing like dusting crops
Mark Kelso recreated General Grevious’ Invisible Hand from 30 pounds of Lego. Wow. Really, that’s all I can say. Wow.
- Darth Vader: He’s with the band. Let’s hope he can handle the rock, unlike a certain Anakin Solo.
- Red and Jonny (the Stormtroopers in Love) are totally geeked out about being in Star Wars Insider.
- Comics Should Be Good devotes a Snark-Free corner to Legacy.
- That Mara custom figure on eBay? It’s currently going for $102.50. With almost two days to go. Hey, Sideshow…?
- American Idol ‘Star Wars Girl’ speaks; also makes an appearance in the Hartford Courant
Adventures in collecting
From the realm of custom work, this 1/6th Mara Jade figure on eBay is certainly a step up from Barbie. And while the face may not look much like any of the half-dozen Mara variations floating around, at least the hair color is close. (And the fact that she has sleeves pleases my inner fangirl.)
Those with less EU-based collecting tastes may want to take this discerning gentlebeing up on their offer: an Ewok Village playset in exchange for a 12-pack of beer.
And for the fan who has everything: Lightsaber lighting. Oh Lucasfilm, what won’t you authorize?
Minas Tirith is sweet, sweet candy
From the same folks who did Helm’s Deep last year. Crazy, man. Crazy.
A new take on old figures
The dioramas at Sillof’s Workshop may look familiar, but chances are you’ll see something new in his Star Wars Re-Vision figures. Also be sure to check out the McQuarrie, Dune, and Gaslight Justice League customs.

Finally, a project for the craft-inept
Cute Lego place card holders are doable for even the most butterfingered fan. (And their kids!) Impress your friends!
All you need to do is place a Lego person on a Lego block so it will stay up. The hands of the Lego will keep the card in place, no need for glue. May the crafty force be with you.
Artoozilla!
Is an eight-foot Lego Artoo going too far? I mean, he might accidentally eat Orlando or something.
