Star Wars with occasional sarcasm
StarWars.com has Dark Horse’s solicitations for October, including Invasion #4 and #0 (which reprints the StarWars.com previews with six new pages,) Knights of the Old Republic #46, a Mando-fanboy pleasing Legacy #41 and Legacy Volume 7.
On that note, there’s a quickie interview with Invasion’s Tom Taylor on the TFN boards.
Obligatory adorableness. A variety of artists transformed blank Mighty Muggs into custom Star Wars figures (including at least two Georges and I think a Steve Sansweet) for The Empire Muggs Back project. The results will be on display at San Diego Comic-Con and auctioned off to raise funds for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. We should get a closer look soon, but for now my favorites are at right.

Remember our Turn Coat giveaway? Because to my shame I almost forgot about it myself. Alas, the first person whose number came up never responded, even after I found what I think was an alternate email, and by then it was the holiday weekend so I gave them some extra time, and then… I forgot. My bad.
So I did another dip into random.org, and this time, it was commentator #8, Mandy!
She responded to my message within minutes, and so the book is off to her! Congratulations, Mandy!
Let’s hear it for comics! This week, Wednesday will bring The Clone Wars #7 and Knights of the Old Republic #43, both the beginnings of new storylines.
The folks at Star Wars Uncut have an interesting take on the fan film – split A New Hope up into 15 second clips, and then have people claim a bit to recreate. The internet versions will be sewn back together into… What? We’ll just have to see. All the bits have been claimed, but some recreations have already begun to appear.
Friends of Ostrander, who counts scripting the Star Wars comics Republic and Legacy among his accomplishments, are holding a charity auction at the Chicago Comic-Con to help with costs for some hefty eye surguries, as well as a site for direct donations.
Well, first off, Aaron has updated his Livejournal again with some details on his progress.
And as for the helping out part, there is now another event to help raise funds: The Fandom Association of Central Texas is holding a fundraiser and auction for the Aaron Allston Donation Fund next weekend. Don’t forget about the Indy Knights Breakfast during GenCon, or making a direct donation!
Something to add to those Episode VII wish lists… Jaina Solo makes io9’s list of the most badass female space pilots of all time. It’s a damn shame we never got anyone in the movies who qualifies…
A good wingman is hard to find. A t-shirt tribute to everyone’s favorite secondary character. This is an excellent shirt to wear when asking Aaron or Mike to sign your arm. (Yes men, you can get one, too.)
If you thought Episode I was slashtastic… Episode VII is among the five posters for sci-fi spinoffs that Sci Fi Wire really wants to see. Nice idea, but their suggestion of Peter Jackson is a bit much. (I mean, really? REALLY? Did no one see his King Kong? Lord of the Rings is one thing, but no giant gorilla movie has any right to go on that long.)
