Big Shiny Robot broke the news that a short scene was cut from Friday’s ‘Arc Troopers,’ and TFN has posted the scene. It’s… Not really worth all this trouble.

Riptide. Paul S. Kemp broke out another brief excerpt from his Crosscurrent sequel on Friday.
Comics. Dark Horse has revealed the cover to Legacy: War #2; Writer John Jackson Miller talks Knight Errant at The Sci-Fi Block.
Further reading. EU Cantina has a new column by Chris (@VileZero) and so far he’s addressed the Darth Plagueis novel and upcoming comics as well as some gaming/Clone Wars stuff. Check it out.
Street date shuffle. It was a slow news week, so Random House moving Denning’s Fate of the Jedi: Vortex up a week got a lot of ink. Still months away, but I did update our book schedule.

With the start of the third season of The Clone Wars webcomic this week, fan-favorite Star Wars artist Tom Hodges has broken some new ground – adding the role of the story writer on top of the art work. Darth Vader is loose in Metro Detroit! A not-too-bright criminal put on a Darth Vader mask to rob a Get & Go store in Ferndale on Monday. The police have him on video, though – before he put the mask on.
At least the cops have a sense of humor about it:
“I guess he didn’t have a light saber with him,” said Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson. “When he walked up to the male clerk he pulled out a butcher knife and demanded money.”
(In other news, if you’re a law-abiding Star Wars fan in the area, some folks are trying to relaunch the local FanForce, R2-Detroit, with a meeting at the Oakland Mall Borders on Saturday.)

Hey! Apparently the new season of some Star Wars TV show starts up on Friday. Have you heard? (Ha.)
Yes, The Clone Wars returns with ‘Clone Cadets’ and ‘Arc Troopers.’ Also back is the webcomic, which relaunches for the new season with ‘The Valsedian Operation’ from Tom Hodges and Pablo Hidalgo.
The clip above is courtesy Big Shiny Robot, who had several folks in San Francisco attending the red carpet premiere… And discovering some possible censorship on the part of Cartoon Network. In less controversial news, Ashley Eckstein revealed that Imperial logo earrings and Yoda pajamas are on the way from Her Universe. (What’s been getting the biggest ink is Seth Green and Matt Senreich, but been there done that.)

Not too much excitement this week… The latest Insider should start showing up this week; I’m sure you’re looking forward to the puns. (Though don’t look for much more than that as far as CV coverage goes; That’s coming in the next issue. Isn’t print fantastic?) Wednesday, on the other hand, brings a Dark Empire trilogy hardcover, perfect for the completest in you.
Big Shiny Robot caught up with Seth Green and Matt Senreich at The Clone Wars premiere and got a few hints at their upcoming Star Wars comedy show, from “Star Wars without the wars” to “Jon Stewart on steroids mixed with Dave Chapelle.” And then George Lucas shows up.
I am particularly pleased to hear that the new show won’t be taking design cues from The Clone Wars, though.
