Star Wars with occasional sarcasm
Last week, folks from Del Rey and Dark Horse were at Lucasfilm to discuss future Expanded Universe projects. Frank Parisi shared a tease from Del Rey, and new editor Jennifer Heddle tweeted that she’s “Feeling very energized about SW publishing!” There’s also an interview with Heddle at Suvudu, though note it does predate the big meeting.
Hopefully this means we’ll be seeing more news trickling out in the coming months… The cupboard has been pretty bare lately!

Good news, Hunger Games fans – while the trailer may indeed be attached to Breaking Dawn, it’s due to be old news by the time the latest Twilight movie opens on the 18th. The trailer will debut on ABC’s Good Morning America this coming Monday, November 14, in the 8 a.m. hour. Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) will brave the perky morning-show herds to introduce the video.
Disappointed by the official Star Wars cookiee cutters, blogger Callye Alvarado of Sweet Sugarbelle used generic Christmas and Halloween cutters to create Star Wars characters. Head over to the link to learn a thing or two.
Which is to say, plenty of action in this one. Red Tails, which is produced by George Lucas and directed by Anthony Hemingway, will be in theaters January 20th.

Fusible reports that Lucasfilm is registering domain names around the title Star Wars: Identities. An animated film? The live-action series? Possible, but I suspect some sort of game is the most likely target. (I’ve seen some rumblings lately that LucasArts is looking for folks with experience in flight sims and first-person shooters.)
There was a three-alarm fire at Skywalker Ranch’s Main House yesterday evening, reports the Marin Independent Journal. There were no injuries and “little to no damage,” but Ranch and Marin County firefighters did call in backup from nearby San Rafael – to help check that the fire hadn’t spread to elsewhere in the building.
A Hunger Games fansite came across a flyer instructing projectionists to attach the Hunger Games trailer to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. While it makes perfect business sense to market Hunger Games to the Twilight audience, I’ve never been so thankful for the internet.
In other news, there’s a new photo of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen that, from her outfit, I’d guess dates from early in the film.
