First look. The Jedi Path comes in a vault. What? Yeah. Or: “Passed down from Master to Padawan, the pages of this venerable text have been annotated by those who have held it, studied it, and lived its secrets.” Since we’re living in the real world, I like Dan Wallace’s explanation: ” It’s supposed to look like an in-universe artifact that fell through a rabbit hole from the galaxy far, far away.” It is an interesting concept, but mostly I just fear what the Jedi Church will make of it.
Hey hey hey, goodbye. Yes, it’s official: There will be no Imperial Commando 2. (It was probably a lose-lose sans Traviss anyway.)
Namesake corner. Sideshow is teasing about a Mara Jade figure again. They like the Adam Hughes painting! (Sigh.) At least she’s not doing laundry?
Comics! Preview the October solicitations, including Knight Errant #1. Which just so happens to be on the cover of August’s Previews.
Interview. Paul Kemp (Crosscurrent) on Fictional Frontiers
Dude, there is a full-on trailer for that “Jedi Path” book.
Is it bad that I want one just for the box? All jewelry boxes should make wooshing noises when opened.
Or–ooh! usb stick storage! Databank? Right? Right?
(ok, yeah, I got nothin’. But I still want the box).
I totally want the Jedi Path!!
Okay, I realize I buy all the books, but this is one that is making me very excited.
The Mara Jade painting was on the right path until they gave her a gratuitous breasts that in no way fit her body. I wonder if that was covered by the Empire’s health plan?
I think she’s smuggling some balloons under there. For the, uh, glory of the Empire.
I bet his Aunt Beru painting is doing some serious domestic work though.
I’d frankly rather see a figure of Mara doing laundry than that Hughes painting.
I prefer the image of Mara from the cover of Sacrifice…
I am coveting that book. Like, absolutely coveting. I’m a tremendous sucker for things that come in cool boxes, and there is just no way that I will not own it when it becomes available. Friggin’ Star Wars, eatin’ all my money again.
And while I had seen it, I hadn’t realized that particular Mara picture was Adam Hughes. I’ve been a fan of his since the “Once More With Feeling” poster/cd-slip, but I’ve got to admit that a lot of his women are pretty gratuitous. I guess that’s a consequence of working primarily in comics though. And for DC no less.
I hope they come out with a Sith version of this “Jedi Path”. If not I’m still going to buy it, just for the box.
Maybe I’m looking at this from the wrong perspective, but if Mara had the same proportions in real life that she does in the Hughes picture, she’d probably fall over from being way too top-heavy.
I love Hughes’ work most of the time, but come on man… ouch.
Well I did make a post here but it has disappeared. In short, not excited about the book, seems very merchandise/money driven to me. Also mentions Darth Sidious as a jedi? For supposed Jedi lore book thats a poor mistake to make.
In no way (to me) makes up for the cancelation of IC2. Not happy about that one, one might say I’m heading toward hate and the darkside.
It didn’t vanish because it was never approved. A calmer stance is always appreciated.
(And not having seen inside: Maybe the Sith part is framed as a ‘found’ insert? Or perhaps Palpatine got it first and made some notes in the margin.)
Didn’t think it was that ‘un-calm’ but hey ho. Jedi like posting. Got it.
I was more concerned by the blurb for the whole thing appearing on the official SW website:
Jedi who added personal commentary: Yoda, Thame Cerulian, Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Sidious, and Luke Skywalker.
There’s being a bit cranky and then there’s FANBOY SMASH. ;)
Wow never been called a fanboy before. They had it coming! They turned me against them?… Nah doesn’t work.
So, no conclusion to the Commando series, eh? THAT JUST PLAIN SUCKS! and yes, that IS me being Jedi calm :-D
Traviss pissed me off, but I really liked the storyline and was looking forward to its conclusion. Maybe I should get rid of my RC omnibuses now, eh?
