We all knew she was destined for more.
Jodelle Ferland (aka, Young Adria in SG1 and Harmony in SGA) will be playing a “recently turned vampire” in the third Twilight film, Eclipse.

Now that everyone has gotten over Johnny Depp’s appearance and that smooch between John Barrowman and David Tennant, Airlock Alpha catches us up on all we missed with sci-fi TV:
And now let’s see what scoopage E! is covering:
And one final tidbit for crushed Jericho fans: it looks like they’re trying for a wrap-up movie.
Presentations at Comic-Con have become big business. The Lost shindig alone cost an estimated $25,000 and attracted some 6,500 fans, many of whom lined up for as long as 16 hours to get a chance to see executive producer Damon Lindelof, and actors Josh Holloway, Michael Emerson, Jorge Garcia and Dominic Monaghan talk about whether Oceanic Air has a “perfect safety record.”
One word: CHARLIE!
George R.R. Martin himself has good news from the first round of casting for HBO’s Game of Thrones adaption: Getting-killed-in-fantasy movies vet Sean Bean has, as rumored, signed on to play the role of Lord Eddard Stark. Martin says:
For the movie fans out there, Sean Bean needs no introduction. I mean, what the hell, he was Boromir and he was Sharpe, he was terrific in both roles, and in a hundred other parts besides. I can’t imagine a better Ned. The deal took some doing, so my fingers have been crossed for a month now (and boy, that made it hard to type), but now it’s done, and I’m thrilled.
And for the role of Robert Baratheon, Mark Addy, who you may recognize from A Knight’s Tale. There’s also news on some of the younger roles – including Jon Snow. Head on over to his Livejournal for the details!
The Emmy Award Nominations are out and the geeks seem to be doing the same as always. But hey, the folks who do all the technical stuff work hard on it. Let’s congratulate the great crew of our favorite geeky shows on jobs well done. (And there are some major ones in there.)
We scour the complete PDF so you don’t have to!
There’s a building tidal wave of hype for Stargate Universe.
There’ll be a new trailer aired with the premiere of Warehouse13 on SciFi SyFY. But those lovely, sneaky folks at GateWorld already have it. (It looks great! Um. Sorry.) Plus, the first official episode picture. It’s akin to the sonogram, I suppose?
In addition, we know that the cast will be making their official debut at ComicCon on Friday. (Cruel choice for those who are also Star Wars fans. Thankfully my dislike of crowds keeps me from being put into that position.)
And just what is the official site doing behind that “under construction” sign?
As previously discussed and dissected for hints, this year’s Star Wars Spectacular panel at Comic-Con was going to be hosted by G4’s “Attack of the Show” crew: Kevin Pereira, Olivia Munn, and Blair Butler, and the panel will be broadcast live on G4 on Friday, July 24. The panel will include a live read of a new “The Clone Wars” script by the voice talent.
The announcement on starwars.com came with the opportunity for fans to submit videos to G4 to be shown during the presentation, either telling fan stories, or asking questions about The Clone Wars to the show’s creators, like Dave Filoni.
Word from someone working for G4 is that George Lucas may be answering some of the fans’ questions submitted by video – via pre-recorded video of his own.
So get those questions in, submitted through the G4 site. Key things to note for submitting videos: < 90 seconds long, < 150 MB, and use a white background!
A little something for those of us who’d like to see more staking with the stalking.
UPDATE: OH BARBIE NO.
TV Overmind is reporting that a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer animated series is in the works, based on the “Season 8” comic books:
What is certain is that because they’re using the comic books as their starting point, all our favorite characters will be returning and this animated series will compliment the original series. Whether any of the original cast will provide voices is uncertain (though I’m doubtful). But Joss Whedon is involved.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard of a Buffy animated series, of course: Fox was developing one in 2002, but it never went furthur than a 4-minute “pilot.” Will this new attempt will ever get beyond the rumor stage? We’ll just have to wait and see.
