Paul Kemp announced the title last night on Twitter, and goes into a bit more detail on his blog. Riptide, a paperback, is on the schedule for next June. Next up for Kemp is December’s The Old Republic: Deceived.

RIP. Artist Al Williamson, who illustrated the Star Wars comic strip and adaptions of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, passed away this weekend. He’s remembered by editor Dave Land at DarkHorse.com

Dark Horse is promising ‘big news’ for Celebration V, so maybe these posts will get more exciting for the back end of 2010. (Or, maybe it’s just some Knight Errant thing.) Here’s hoping.

Review: Christie Golden’s Fate of the Jedi: Allies
Luke and Ben are forced to confront a group of Sith ships floating above Dathomir when all they really want to do is get back to business. Luke not only wants to exonerate himself, but thinks following Jacen’s path to darkness may give him the insight he needs to prevent another Jedi from falling to the Dark Side. But these Sith have some information that Luke might be interested in—information regarding Sith who may be succumbing to the same dementia plaguing young Jedi across worlds.

Out this week: Hyperspace, A Long Time Ago
We got so much last week I hope you weren’t expecting much… But the first two Adventures in Hyperspace books (looking a little too young to be Young Adult) may be in stores now, if they weren’t already. Comic-goers can keep an eye out for a new omnibus of the old Marvel series coming from Dark Horse. Due to the holiday, it should be in stores Thursday.

Out this week: Fate of the Jedi, Invasion, and Legacy
Head out to the bookstore today to pick up the fifth volume of Fate of the Jedi, Christie Golden’s Allies. Also on the shelves is Golden’s Star Wars debut and the second Fate of the Jedi novel, Omen in paperback.
It’s a good week for post-ROTJ comics as well, with Invasion – Rescues #1 and Legacy #48 headed for comic shops on Wednesday.
Sue reveals two new Essentials, updated schedule
So I finally do an EUbits and then we get more news? Such is the life. But Sue Rostoni posted an updated book schedule today – and revealed two new reference/nonfiction books – so no sitting on/twittering this, thank you very much. Here’s what’s new:
- Jason Fry is taking on The Essential Guide to Warfare – previously known as The Essential Guide to the Military. Folks have been clamoring for this for a while, so good to see it finally get pinned down. It’s due in June 2011
Meanwhile Internet Rockstar/Man Who Never Sleeps Pablo Hidalgo will be penning The Essential Reader’s Companion. And I am forced to devolve into aged memes. (I hate you, Pablo. Okay, not really.) Seriously now, Sue describes this as “a non-fiction guide to fiction, with side-bars calling out related comics and events.”
- We also get a timeframe for Visions: November!
