Hot on the heels of the Invincible reveal, we get another first look, this time at The Force Unleashed novel.
Robot Chicken gets recognition
The best Star Wars animated special of the year got three Annie Award nods: Animated Television Production, Directing, and Character Animation. (Okay, the last one not necessarily for the SW special, but still.) Whoo!
Other honorees include Futurama: Bender’s Big Score (Best Home Entertainment Production,) Kim Possible (up against RC for Best Television Production) and a landslide of noms for Pixar’s Ratatouille. Another familiar name is Doug Chiang, up for Production Design in an Animated Feature Production for his work on Beowulf.
Fan Art: Baroque Star Wars
We’ve seen quite a few variations on the Star Wars theme, but Mattias Adolfsson’s baroque versions have a definite charm. His Imperial Walker is particularly impressive. (The heels!)
UPDATE: And another: “Han Solo being harassed by the puritan squad.”
Gate Geeks – We have DVDs!
Just in time for my birthday, the upcoming SG1 movie The Ark of Truth will be released direct-to-DVD on March 11th.
The week before, the US will finally get its own chance to buy Stargate’s version of The Star Wars Holiday Special when Stargate Infinity: The Legend Begins is released on March 6th. (Although really, it would take a lot to be as bad as The Holiday Special!)
In other Stargate news:
– Joe Mallozzi advises us to spread the wealth in our praises and criticisms of each week’s show. Plus, he announced that he will be breaking down this week’s mid-season finale and fielding questions in his blog.
– The Chucknician himself, Chuck Campbell, talks about the joys of being a day player for Stargate.
– And Stargate’s own Head Fan Pierre Bernard (from Conan O’Brien’s Recliner of Rage bit) throws out a press release for one last push on the People’s Choice Awards voting. (Which still has a few categories open.)

Eww, science!
An infuriating look at gender segregation at the Discovery Channel Store. Because nothing says science like sewing machines and jewelry and fairy dust! (via)

Benedict XVI/Palpatine mashups are kinda played out at this point, but A New Pope made me laugh out loud more than once, due in no small part to the narration. (via)
