ADB is AOK, now

Big surprise. Amazon jumped the gun on premiering David Hewlett‘s movie A Dog’s Breakfast. (I know. You’re shocked!) However, all has been straightened out.

You can continue to pre-order the DVD from Amazon (although you can now do so officially)
And if you just can’t wait, you can download it from Amazon Unbox or iTunes.

And good news for non-US audiences. The international release will be the first quarter of 2008.

I’ve been lucky enough to see this film. You will be giggling for days. (And if you’re not a Gate Geek, don’t run away. This has nothing to do with Stargate, except for the cast and crew. And there’s a great sci-fi spoof in it that every genre fan can appreciate.)

Helmets don’t lie: The tragic love of Vader and Fett

asyouwish.jpgWhat’s up with Darth Vader and Boba Fett? On the Serious Fan With Serious Knowledge front (HA!) I don’t really know/retain, nor honestly do I care, being someone who thinks Fett might just be a wee tiny bit overrated (shocking!) but I can tell you one thing: I made an icon about them once.

Seriously now, it’s a hilarious blog and will make you laugh without borrowing funny from The Princess Bride. Read it. (via SF Signal)

That’s no moon! It’s a Star Wars roundup!

Rick McCallum received an award at the European Digital Cinema and HDTV conference in Spain, and, according to the guy who wrote TFN showed a preview of 3-D Star Wars to the crowd.

Meanwhile, Lightsabre posted the second part of their McCallum interview, including some interesting insights on George and the prequels.

Busy day in these parts

Meanwhile…

I refuse to believe this is for real

Higher than average whinging is expected in the wake of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, yes. But a helpline?

Retailers fear that the ending of the series and the accompanying deaths could cause such level of distress among fans that Waterstone’s, a major bookseller, are planning to set up a helpline for readers.

Because no beloved character has ever died in fiction before. Quick, hide the Russian literature section! (via fandom lounge)
