An upcoming episode of Family Guy will take place “in a Star Wars world.”
Video Monday
This week, the video sheep of the internet are all drooling over Chad Vader – Day Shift Manager. Thankfully, this one is actually funny. Hooray!
The follow-up to last week’s A Beginners Guide To Faking Your Death On The Internet, Luke Lewis’ A Beginner’s Guide To The British. The part about Oasis vs. Blur literally had me on the floor.
And lo, I am dead: A 1999 clip from The Daily Show that asks is Jar-Jar Gay?
And finally, for those with strong constitution, Donnie and Marie do Star Wars: Part I, Part II. Horror beyond imagination!
– Obi-Wan is Going Commando.
– Star Wars on a Banjo.
– Rise of the Troopers trailer.
– You Might Be a Cylon!
– Rockabilly Rancor

From the Blogside
Chaodai shatters the myth that saying something is ‘for kids’ means you don’t have to try. Not surprisingly, The Phantom Menace comes up…

Stuff’s gonna blow up! Okay, we now know that book 6 will be Inferno, Karen Traviss’ Leia is quite snarky, and you crazy Jaina/Jag kids shouldn’t give up hope.
Also… two more Republic Commando novels are on the way.
Star Wars Spectacular
LFL pushed the nostalgia angle – not surprising with the DVD release and 30-year anniversary.
The big news is LFL flying in 200 501st members and other costumed fans to take part in 2007’s Tournament of Roses Parade. Not much new about Celebration IV – at least the one in L.A. But it was announced that LFL plans to hold another con next year – Celebration Europe, in London next July.
And we finally get something to go on with one of the TV shows – the animated show will take place late in the Clone Wars, and Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda and others will appear.
And it looks like the Secrets of 07 mystery is indeed a game. Focused on the Force and set between ROTS and ANH, it’ll contain both existing and new characters.
In short, there’s a lot going on, so be sure to read the starwars.com report. There are several video clips from the Spectacular available for Hyperspace members as well.
Toys! Wonderful toys!
Lots of neat Star Wars stuff from Hasbro’s Comic-Con sneak peek panel. I like the comic packs. Blue Vader! Green Tarkin! Sign me up!
Sculpting a Galaxy also looks interesting, although I wonder how big the packaging for the limited edition is going to end up if they’re actually going to include a model, even a tiny one.
Fan Film Awards
The Awards were presented at Comic Con last night. Shane Felux’s Pitching Lucas won both George Lucas Selects and the Audience Choice Award – a first, I think. Other winners include Michael Q. Yowhan’s Memoirs of a Padawan, Brian Silva’s Sith’d, and William Grammer’s Blue Milk.
…What?
Does the world really need more Stargate movies?
The sequels would steer clear of the TV show mythologies, Devlin added. “That’s right,” he said. “We would just continue the mythology of the movie and finish that out. I think the series could still live at the end of the third sequel. So we’re going to try to not tread on their stories.”
Um… Okay. Sure.
