What is geek, anyway?

Is sci-fi too geeky?

All I know is that pretty much anything I’ve tried that’s labeled as hard sci-fi has either been drier than Death Valley or far too enamored with its own cleverness.

    Well hard science-fiction by its very nature seeks to ground itself too close to science-fact; rendering many ventures into semi-adventurous technical manuals.
