Flicks and the City got to sit down with Jett Lucas, and he has plenty to say – if not reveal – about Episode VII. Namely, Abrams and George Lucas are “constantly talking” now, he doesn’t think we’ll see Star Trek actors make the jump and the timeline of George starting on the sequel and the Disney sale. Jett is currently working on the TV show Chicago Fire. (via)
Well, at least he pretty much confirmed that his father is working on his little films. Okay, he only does so in a half-sentence, but to me that’s a confirmation. THX 1139, here we come. :-)
Other than that, I’m really looking forward to Rinzler’s Making of Episode VII. It should be fun to finally get an insider’s perspective on what started the selling process, what triggered the sequel ideas and how those ideas eventually influenced (or maybe even shaped) the final films. Okay, so maybe it’s not the Making of Episode VII but rather the Making of Episode IX that I need for those types of facts, but still: Mr. Rinzler, please write those books for me. ;-)
This has to be the most intriguing interview we’ve seen since the Lucasfilm sell off. It’s a pity it had to come from someone who’s obviously privy to a lot of the information – but from someone who is not actually involved at all.
We’re coming up to the 12 month mark and we’re still hopelessly waiting in the dark for a tiny LFL morsel to drop.
