We already know what accent John Boyega is using for Finn in The Force Awakens thanks to the toys, but the website of the film’s dialect coach has the answer for Daisy Ridley’s.
→ The German translation of one of Kylo Ren’s recently revealed lines is very interesting.
→ Domhnall Gleeson talks about the General Hux action figure and the First Order with MTV. (A Black Series Hux figure has been spotted on some online retailers.)
→ Episode VIII: Is Benicio del Toro a villain or not? He’s still not sure, I guess. (I have a theory, if you want to ask in the comments.)
I like theories. ;)
Okay, well. (I did write about this on Tumblr a bit, so you may have seen it.)
I think del Toro could be playing ambiguous because the guy isn’t a super obvious on-paper villain – i.e. not First Order, if we assume they survive TFA, or a Knight of Ren or whatever. I think he’ll be, ostensibly anyway, on the side of the Resistance – or maybe with the New Republic, if the Resistance ends up being a splinter group as the name kind of implies. But, as we EU fans know, that doesn’t mean he can’t be adversarial.
Or, say we assume BOTH the First Order and the Resistance are small-time players, and whatever happens in TFA brings them from the fringe to the attention of the wider galaxy… Or maybe he leads yet another splinter group? Hell, there’s a very good chance that the New Republic we see in the JtTFA books doesn’t survive…
Anyway, that’s just my gut instinct, and we can meet back here in May 2017 and laugh about how wrong I am when he ends up being Tonlo Ren or something.
I like theories too.
I’ve got a theory… it might be bunnies!
James, sweetie… No.
Once more, James, with feeling!
The Italian translation of the same Kylo Ren’s line is just the opposite. :O
…Of course!
Interesting…
For sure let’s meet back here and discuss in a couple years. In the meantime, I think James in onto something.
