Just a few: Chad Vader Episode IV: Holiday Special and a Holiday Greeting from the same.
Video Monday
America got that awful Coldplay vid when all six movies came on TV for the first time. What did the Brits get? Two awesome in-universe promos for weather and travel and two almost songvid type things spotlighting heros and villians that completely fail at making me feel embarrassed to be a fan. Spike TV, take notes: Our national pride is at stake. Don’t suck!
Vader Dad. Public service announcements for the win!
Snape is too sexy. This is pretty old (I know you’ve seen the icons) but I’ve never blogged it and I don’t think it ever stops being funny. Note: This is the kind of Flash that will give epileptics fits.
The eternal question, or something
Star Trek fans vs. Star Wars fans: Who’s geekier? A better question: Who cares? That said, the video is hilarious!
See the film that won a golden tater!
TFN reports that the winner of Hasbro’s Star Wars Mini Movie competition is up on Youtube.
Video Monday
This week there’s a some stuff I think I may have linked before… But not recently. Enjoy.
Cruelty Corner: Jar Jar’s Walking Papers or George Lucas Strikes Back. Dude, Jar-Jar was so going to be Boba Fett.
How Star Wars should have ended. “…And it’s all Princess Leia’s fault.”
A clip from the real (British) Whose Line is it Anyway in which Star Wars is thrown in a Film and Theatre Styles segment.
- Wii Saber. There are quite a lot of these, actually. I choose this one… I don’t know why.
- Star Wars Disco. You remember.
- R2D2 Cartoon. Rare instance where “I was testing my software” is actually kinda funny.
Video: Scary Poppins
Mary Poppins remixed as a horror movie. What is it about Julie Andrews? I’m pretty sure I linked a similiar recut of The Sound of Music – and a quick Youtube search reveals an even better trailer focusing on the movie’s historical elements.
Video Monday
TIE-tanic. “The ability to control a medium for 20 years is insignificant next to the power of a good chick-flick.” Pure. Freaking. Genius. With Ewoks! On fire!
‘Guy Love,’ a song from the upcoming musical episode of Scrubs. I dare you not to laugh at this. And, um, it’s not off-topic: Donald Faison appears wearing a Star Wars t-shirt. Watch for it!
Michael Winslow recreates the sound effects of an entire scene from A New Hope in his stand-up routine.
Producer Michael Wiese talks about Hardware Wars at the Cannes Film Festival.
ABC’s Harry Potter special is up on Youtube. Watch thirteen (!) clips at ohnotheydidnt.
- Compilation: Ray Harryhausen’s special effects.
- Mashup: Star Wars/Wizard of Oz.
- Family Guy: Luke Skywalker calls out another rebel pilot.
- Flash: Fear & Loathing in Mos Eisley.
Videos, videos, everywhere!
Well, I was planning on holding onto these for Monday, but thanks to your Defamers and Boing Boings, they’re all over the web.
First up, George Lucas’ Singin’ in the Rain, by the folks who brought you Brokeback to the Future and X-Men-3:The Last Standing Ovation. Watch it now – it’s already been removed from Youtube at the request of humorless Warner Bros. goons. Or maybe it’ll show up at the Chocolate City Cake site along with its other infringing brethern. Special thanks to Bonnie, who first sent me the original link.
Our other selection is a seven-year-old Wilhelm scream compilation video made by pre-LFL (right?) Pablo Hidalgo for the Star Wars Fanboy Association (not to be confused with SFWA. Stupid sexy acronyms.) Found via Dan Wallace in Pablo’s own comments.
Big on the Internets
The Star Wars Kid is the most popular viral video, followed by the Numa Numa dude and a bunch of videos I haven’t heard of. (SHAME!) Number 10 is The Shining remix trailer, though.
Video Monday
What if Quentin Tarantino made Lord of the Rings? Orodruin Dogs, Ring Fiction, Natural Born Orcs, and White City. Not as good as Star Wars Pulp Fiction, but still pretty damn funny.
Bill Moyers’ interview with George Lucas from The Mythology of Star Wars TV special, in four three parts: 1, 3, 4. I’m not sure where part 2 went, if it was ever there at all.
James Michael Tyler talks to Jonathan Rinzler about The Art of Revenge of the Sith and The Making of, as well as Matthew Stover about the ROTS novelization and James Luceno about Dark Lord.
Screw that, have more funny
- Matthew ‘General Grievous’ Wood and Warwick Davis sing a classic Disney song.
- Hayden Christensen on MTV’s TRL.
- Budweiser Star Wars. I’m sorry.
- To continue tonight’s slide into cheesiness, a Jeff Foxworthy/Star Wars mashup. Really, very, very sorry.
- Okay, okay, here’s something that will only make you cringe a little: 1977 cast interview on The Today Show.
