The very patient people at GateWorld report that somewhere in the really long interviews posted on the official site the producers state that they hope to get rolling on the third Stargate series this summer.
It could be a movie. It could be a series. I suppose the concept (and, more likely, the financing) have yet to be really fleshed out.
If they give me the funny, I’ll be there!

New interviews have been posted on the official video website of Stargate in which the producers reveal several stunning developments in both casting and the future of the franchise.
Apparently, the producers don’t seem to realize how poorly fandom reacts to change. (And given the way they’ve handled past changes in the show, can anyone blame the fans for spazzing?) Those who are feeling desperate should know that mental health resources are out there and available for you….
Yes, it’s a Stargate-rich week, folks. This time, we finally get an actual message from the notoriously tech-shy Paul McGillion on his official website.
Since his message contains reference to an upcoming Stargate Atlantis story spoiler, we’ll put it behind the cut.

MGM has greenlighted two Stargate SG-1 DVD movies to continue after the series ends. Both are expected in fall 2007.
As the producers of the Stargate franchise are fond of reminding us, Stargate SG1 has not been cancelled, it has only been dropped by SciFi here in the US. This, of course, leads us to a slight problem of how US fans will get their Gate in the future.
