IDG Entertainment, publishers of the Star Wars Insider, are doing their 2007 reader survey. I’ve been hearing complaints about the magazine’s content from certain quarters, so now is as good a time as any to put them to use.
New Insider now appearing
Star Wars Insider #91 is arriving in subscriber mailboxes. (I got mine today.) Interesting fact – the bootleg article by Pete Vilmur includes a generous sidebar on fanzines, of all things. Hyperspace members can check out the issue’s online supplement now.
Insider #91 is still late
According to editor Frank Parisi it went to the printer today and will be in stores by the 19th.
The skinny on Star Wars Insider #92
Two week delay for the next Insider. Just as mine started coming in on time, too. But it looks like the issue contains some good stuff, including a peek at the The Making of Star Wars and an interview with Timothy Zahn about Allegiance.
There is an Insider!
I got mine today… Highlights are the articles on Nathan Cabrera’s art, Spaceballs, and Tempest, which gets as in-depth as it can get and still be spoiler-free.
And yeah, the DarthWho thing is there, too. Site’s still not live, though.
Oh yes, this will end well…
Assuming it’s true, that is, and it looks likely. Spotted in the latest Insider by Acky12 at the NJOE boards:
Del Rey Asks Fans to Name the next Sith Lord
Besides being the ultimate bad guys, Vader, Sidious, Maul, and Bane have another thing in common: they all had to go through the ritual of shunning their identities to solidify their allegiance to the Sith order. A pivotal point in the career of any self-respecting Sith Lord is the adoption of his or her Darth title. If you’ve been reading the Legacy of the Force series of novels (and if not, why haven’t you?) then you know that – SPOILER ALERT, highlight to read – Jacen Solo is turning toward the dark side of the Force. The young Sith Lord is about to take the most definitive of steps by adopting a Darth moniker and Del Rey is sponsoring a contest in which readers get to choose the name of the newest Sith Lord in the Star Wars saga. Is it us, or is that pretty sweet? Details for the contest can be found at www.darthwho.com

Inside the new Insider
Star Wars Insider editor Frank Parisi tells us a little about the upcoming Insider #89.
The cover subject ‘mystery?’ I’m calling Boba Fett.
This Week in SW
The preview for Star Wars Insider #84 is up, and it’s all about the clones… And coming up in the issue after that (#85) will be a Vader short story from Karen Traviss.
StarWarsShop.com has an exclusive Christmas Vader action figure that’s… um.. festive. Because nothing says ‘Happy Holidays’ like a blood-colored figure of everyone’s favorite Sith Lord…
And LFL is finally moving into the Presidio this week, so updates on starwars.com will be slim.
