It’s The Last Jedi week, with the first screenings hitting the night of Thursday, December 14 in the U.S. (International dates may vary, but the bulk are this week.)
In the modern age of Star Wars, that also means that we’re getting the bulk of the film’s tie-ins on Friday, December 15.

It’s our last gasp before all The Last Jedi books hit on December 15, with the novella collection Canto Bight hitting the shelves on Tuesday, December 5. It features stories from Saladin Ahmed, Rae Carson, Mira Grant, and John Jackson Miller and gives us our first detailed look at some of the characters inhabiting the casino world.

There’s plenty for fans to pick up at the comic shops this week. In the shops on Wednesday, November 29 are Star Wars Adventures #4 (with two covers), Jedi of the Republic: Mace Windu #4, Poe Dameron #21, atrade of the Rogue One adaptation, plus Star Wars Insider.
In shops now are Star Wars #39 and the first trade collection of the current Darth Vader series, Imperial March.
One of the more confusing releases lately has been the deluxe edition of Daniel Wallace’s The Rebel Files. It’s available now from Amazon and even has a trailer.
Two comics and three trades will grace the comic book shelves on Wednesday, November 15. Our new comics are Darth Vader #8 and Doctor Aphra #14. The trades are the complete Captain Phasma, Poe Dameron Volume 3: Legends Lost (collects #7, #14-19) and Rise of the Sith Volume 2, a Legends collection that looks to mostly draw on works set around and during The Phantom Menace.
Oh, and Battlefront II is coming out on Friday, I guess? Or it’s already out for some? I don’t know – games are so very much not my division, so that’s all you’ll get on that from here. (At least until someone does the obligatory roundup post with all the relevant info/clips that may pertain to things we do care about.)

This week brings two new books and three comics. Del Rey’s 40th Anniversary anthology From a Certain Point of View is out Tuesday, October 3. It features 40 short stories from 42 authors, all set during A New Hope. Also out Tuesday is William Shakespeare’s The Force Doth Awaken by Ian Doescher.

We’ve got four new comics headed to the shelves on Wednesday, September 20. From Marvel, there’s Captain Phasma #2, Poe Dameron #19, plus Star Wars Annual #3 (which has two covers.) IDW will drop Star Wars Adventures #2.

The rush is over – for now – and only a handful of brand new comics are out this Wednesday, September 13. Star Wars #36 and Doctor Aphra #12 are gracing shelves, although there are also second printings of Darth Vader #3 and #4.
It’s only a temporary relapse, though. Del Rey will next strain your wallet for their From a Certain Point of View anthology on October 3, and there’s plenty more coming in the run-up to The Last Jedi.
Because this week brings Force Friday and the first wave of The Last Jedi tie-ins, we have three release days this week instead of the usual two – as well as a lot of product. There’s a lot going on, basically.

This Wednesday, August 16, sees the release of two new comics. Star Wars #34 teams up Lando Calrissian and Sana Starros, while Poe Dameron #18 splits up Black Squadron.
Our next book will be the paperback of Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath: Empire’s End on August 29, followed by Force Friday on September 1, with our first wave of The Last Jedi merchandise. That includes the novels Phasma by Delilah S. Dawson and Leia, Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray. See more in our book release schedule.
