SDCC: The final roundup

I did not regret not going to Comic-Con until I heard this: They showed a Futurama trailer. Why is it not online? This is so unfair.

You changed the outcome by measuring it!

Trailers and such

Stargate News from Comic-Con

For the tenth year in a row, Stargate had a presence at San Diego Comic-Con. (Apparently, this year they were giving away free haircuts if you agreed to cut in and/or spray on a Stargate logo.)

This year, they were pushing the upcoming SG1 straight-to-DVD movies. Sadly, it looks like they’re going to be delaying their release a little to get some better effects completed. Ark of Truth will now be coming out in the Spring and Continuum will now be coming out in the fall of 2008. But the happy news was that third series is still going!

Producer Joe Mallozzi got lots of pictures of the cast and crew who attended (along with his usual list of all foods available).

And David Hewlett reports that if any of the SGA cast looked particularly stupid in their panel, it was all due to being unable to hear each other.

SDCC: Expanded Universe figure news!

RebelScum reports that among their rebooted Evolution will be three sets that contain EU figures – Evolution of the Jedi will have a NJO Luke Skywalker, Evolution of the Sith (#2?) contains Darths Bane and Nihilus, and Evolution of the Fetts will have a Mandalore figure. (Looks like KOTOR era, but I could be wrong.)

Hasbro throws the girlfen a bone. Also, expect to see the the HttE and ESB Infinities Comic two packs on shelves in August, and the X-Wing pack (Hobbie! Fel!) in November, with wave 5 following in December.

Also spotted at Hasbro: Yoda & Kybuck, shirtless Anakin from the (first) Clone Wars cartoons; Darth Revan and Darth Malak from the KOTOR games and pre-cyborg Grievous and a McQuarrie concept Chewbacca.

SDCC: Keeping up with the Joneses

indyiv.jpgVideo of yesterday’s Indiana Jones broadcast from Comic-Con. Watch it before it’s gone! Or, watch an official behind the scenes video at the Indy site.

Forthcoming from Del Rey

Looks like the big announcements from the Star Wars publishing panel was not only the anticipated Star Wars Atlas by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, but also new edition of the Star Wars Encyclopedia from Steve Sansweet and Pablo Hidalgo. There have been rumblings about the latter, but I believe this is the first official word on the matter. Both books are due out in 2008.

Thursday @ SDCC: All the other stuff

Zachary Quinto is young Spock. Meanwhile, Leonard Nimoy will reprise his role as original flavor Spock in scenes that will act as a framing device for the film.

Friday is Star Wars day, so keep your eye on the TOSblog and Flickr.

The next big con is here

San Diego Comic Con started tonight, at least for those with media passes. The TOSblog has already grabbed some pics, and we know that Bonnie is there, so no doubt posts are forthcoming. (We also may have some CJers on the scene willing to weigh in.)

As for other LFL ventures, there’s a lot of online hype over this one little little pyramid.

Rebelscum is high on the collecting scene, snapping pics of all the new merchandise, including Sideshow’s Snow Bunny Padme (Remember her?.) Still meh.
