Star Wars with occasional sarcasm
Three comics are coming on Wednesday, June 6. From Marvel, there’s Star Wars #49 and The Last Jedi #3, while IDW has Star Wars Adventures #11.
We’re clear out on books until July, but there is a pre-order link now for Amy Ratcliffe’s Women of the Galaxy, which is out in October.
This week brings us a paperback reprint of one of The Last Jedi’s fiction tie-ins, and a Solo comic. First up, on Tuesday, May 29, the paperback for Canto Bight, which features novellas from Saladin Ahmed, Rae Carson, Mira Grant, and John Jackson Miller. Then, on Wednesday, May 30, it’s time for Lando: Double or Nothing #1, first issue in a five-part miniseries.
With Solo officially out on Friday, we’ve got a whole pile of movie tie-ins coming out this week.

One comic and a trade will be waiting in the comic shops on Wednesday, May 16. Poe Dameron #27 continues the story of the character’s offscreen adventures in The Force Awakens, this time with the just-past-The Last Jedi framing story focusing on Leia. See the preview under the cut. This week’s trade is Poe Dameron Volume 4, collecting #20-25 as well as Annual #1.

Four brand new comics are out this Wednesday, May 9. First off, The Last Jedi #1 begins Marvel’s adaptation of the film, written by Rogue One’s Gary Whitta with art by Michael Walsh. We’re also getting Thrawn #4, Darth Vader #16 and Star Wars Adventures #10.

One new comic this week, and two reprints, both connected to Solo. This week’s sole new release is Star Wars #47. For the reprints, we have a hardcover collectionof 2016’s Han Solo miniseries and a mini-collection of Dark Horse’s Tag & Bink comics. They’ll be in the movie, after all.

For Tuesday, April 24, it’s Delilah S. Dawson’s Phasma in paperback. It’s not the lightest read, but it gives us plenty of insight into the title character and even the pre-The Force Awakens state the First Order.

Just two comics coming out on Wednesday, April 11: Thrawn #3 and Darth Vader #14.
Next week, though, brings the year’s first all-new novel: Daniel José Older’s Last Shot, which will tie into Solo. It’s the first of the Solo books, with the rest due out on the film’s release date of May 25. Check out our release schedule for the lineup.
There’s one middle grade reference book, one comic and two trades being released this week. First up, on Tuesday, April 3, is the Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles by Landry Q. Walker.
Then, on Wednesday, April 4, head to your favorite comic venue for Star Wars #46 or the latest trade in the series, Ashes of Jedha, which collects #38-43. Marvel is also shipping a hardcover collection of their 40th anniversary cover art, if that’s your bag.
