Out this week: Darth Plagueis, Knights of the Old Republic

Well nerds, it’s time: James Luceno’s Darth Plagueis will be in bookstores today. If you’re not convinced yet, there’s yet another excerpt at StarWars.com, or reviews at Big Shiny Robot, EU Cantina, Fangirlblog, Knights Archive, Lightsaber Rattling, Roqoo Depot and The Star Wars Report.

Wednesday will be big for comic fans as well: Both Knights of the Old Republic: War #1 and Agent of the Empire: Iron Eclipse #2. Or, you can round out your collection with the trade of Legacy: War.

If Knights of the Old Republic: War is on your radar, James has an interview with John Jackson Miller.

Out this week: New Shadow Hunter, CEIII #3

You ought to be seeing the new edition of Michael Reaves’ Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter in stores today. It has a new cover and contains a new short story by James Luceno, ‘Restraint,’ as well as an older short, ‘Saboteur.’ I’d recommend caution – and buying the book in a real live bookstore – to make sure you have the right edition, since it doesn’t seem to have a fresh ISBN. The new cover, along with our comic release this week, is at the right.

There should be no issues with Wednesday’s lone comic release, Crimson Empire III: Empire Lost #3. It’s brand new.

And with that we official close out the 2011 releases. Up in two weeks, on January 10, we’ll get the first novel of the new year with Luceno’s Darth Plagueis.

Out this week: Knight Errant concludes Deluge arc

Wednesday brings Knight Errant: Deluge #5 to comic shops, the final issue of the arc. The series will be back with Escape in June.

We’ve one release coming up before the end of the year – a new paperback edition of Michael Reaves’ Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter, which contains a new short story by James Luceno. We’re not sure if the street dating is strict on this, but Del Rey says it’ll be out on the 27th.

Out this week: Agent of the Empire #1

Wednesday brings the debut issue of John Ostrander’s Agent of the Empire, featuring the James Bondesque Imperial agent Jahan Cross. The series spans a few years before A New Hope, or so I hear.

Also gracing the comic shelves will be a pair of digest reprint collections: Episode I Adventures collects some TPM side adventures, while Episode I: The Phantom Menace is the official movie adaption.

You might also want to be on the lookout for the latest issue of the Star Wars Insider, #130, for the new short story by Matthew Stover, ‘The Tenebrous Way,’ though in some places I’m seeing it dated for the 21st.

Out this week: Shadow Games, CEIII #2

Tuesday brings our final Star Wars novel of the year, Shadow Games by Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff. Here’s a mini-excerpt for the Dash Rendar fans.

Comic fans will have two books to look for on WednesdayCrimson Empire III: Empire Lost #2 and Dark Times: Out Of The Wilderness #3.

Our next major release will be James Luceno’s Darth Plagueis on January 10. This one also has a recent mini-excerpt.

Out this week: Revan and Invasion

Coming out tomorrow is our second-to-last Star Wars novel of the year, Drew Karpyshyn’s The Old Republic: Revan. In the meantime, you can check out a 50-page excerpt or a spoiler-free review from Pete at Lightsaber Rattling. Or, if you’ve been sitting around and boggling at the excitement this novel has been generating, here’s some psuedo-learning for you instead: All the Darths by Dan Wallace.

Showing up in comic shops on Wednesday will be Invasion: Revelations #5.

Our next book, coming up on the 29th, will be Shadow Games by Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff.

Out this week: Inside ILM, Fisher’s Shockaholic

Here’s one to put on your holiday wishlist: Industrial Light and Magic: The Art of Innovation should be appearing in stores Tuesday. (It sounds like a companion piece to 1987’s Industrial Light & Magic: The Art of Special Effects, which I recall thumbing through in Waldenbook’s as a kid.) Also keep an eye out for Carrie Fisher’s latest book, Shockaholic, which should find its way into stores this week.

Our next book release is Drew Karpyshyn’s The Old Republic: Revan on November 15th. I spotted a few minor date changes for 2012 books on Random House’s online catalogue – see them in our book release schedule.

Out this week: Riptide, The People vs. George Lucas and Crimson Empire III

We’ve got quite the variety of things coming out this week. First up, on Tuesday, is the latest from Paul S. Kemp, Riptide. He regards it as his best Star Wars novel, and shares a bit more with Suvudu.

Also being released tomorrow is the DVD of the fan documentary The People vs. George Lucas, which should be an interesting watch.

And finally, Wednesday brings the long-awaited Crimson Empire III: Empire Lost #1. Have at it, fanboys.

Out this week: Clone Wars S3, The Complete Vader, Star Wars Art: Comics

Today is the official release date for The Clone Wars season 3 on DVD and Blu-Ray. On the book front, The Complete Vader by Ryder Windham and Peter Vilmur will finally be waiting on shelves after a production-related delay of two years; Check out reviews by EUCantina and Roqoo Depot.

Also out and about is the follow-up to last year’s Visions, Star Wars Art: Comics.

Meanwhile, Wednesday will bring Knight Errant: Deluge #3 to comic shops.
