The fandom minute: Rabidity, lists, Yoda-speak

Star Wars might not be one of Film.com’s five most rabid fanbases, but it does get a honorable mention. And I’m going to go on record saying that ‘Star Warriors’ is a damn stupid name. If that makes me our equivalent of one of those jerks that froths at the mouth over Trekkie vs. Trekker, so be it.

Anakin Skywalker: Badass geek?

Always Watching thinks so – they named him one of their ten most badass geeks in film and TV:

It’s strange to think that one of the world’s most iconic and badass movie villains would ultimately be revealed as a major geek during his childhood years. Little Anakin Skywalker was an engineering prodigy, capable of building or repairing anything tech-related, including his own podracer and even C-3PO (albeit naked).

The saga starts on Spike tonight!

The Phantom Menace will kick off the saga on Spike tonight at 8pm (or maybe 7pm – check your local listings.) It runs for three hours, but you can at least watch most of it before Battlestar Galactica starts at 10pm. (TPM will also rerun tomorrow at 5pm, just before Attack of Clones.)
