The Star Wars Show gives us a better look at Solo’s Millennium Falcon, trailer reactions and a chat with Lucasfilm archivist Madlyn Burkert.
First Solo details from Entertainment Weekly
Solo gets its first Entertainment Weekly cover, and a handful of new images. Let the feeding frenzy begin! Here’s what we’ve learned:
→ The train-thing is called The Conveyex, and Han (with Chewie!) is indeed trying to steal something from it.
→ We still don’t have a last name for Qi-ra (Emilia Clarke) but she has known Han “longer than anyone.”
→ The droid L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) is Lando’s sidekick. Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) and Val (Thandie Newton) are “career crooks,” while Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany) is a crime boss.
→ So much for my theory that the clean Millennium Falcon is a flashback scene – There’s a picture of Han on it with Beckett and Chewie.
→ Mimban confirmed, and it is… Muddy.
Coming up: Interviews with Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover and Clarke, more details about the Falcon.
Our first 45 second look at Solo
As predicted, a Solo commercial graced the screens of Super Bowl watchers, and the full trailer will drop on Good Morning America Monday morning.
Head over to Entertainment Weekly for some analysis from Anthony Breznican, who will have some actual reveals for us next week, or below for some (mostly) official stills, including two that aren’t from the trailer.
Donald Glover describes a Solo shot; More LEGO leaks
Donald Glover was at the Television Critics Association for his show Atlanta, and naturally that means Solo questions. He talked about something Ron Howard shot with him as Lando Calrissian, discussed the director drama, and confirmed that capes are in play. (Surprise! Or not.)

Lego leaks confirm Solo artwork, Millennium Falcon’s ‘new’ look
Proving yet again that it’s always LEGO that leaks first… Turns out that the yellow image leak was LEGO merchandising art, and some (fuzzy, natch) photos of the set packaging confirms that the Millennium Falcon will have a different look in the standalone. Possible spoilers at the link, if that sort of thing bothers you.
First promo image of Solo leaks?
A promo image for Solo has emerged from the wilds of the internet, giving us our (presumed) first non-fuzzy look at Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo, Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian, whoever Emilia Clarke is playing and the Millennium Falcon’s new/old paint job. Lucasfilm has asked at least one site to take it down, so chances are it’s legit, though a Lucasfilm rep told /Film that they didn’t create it.
The images – one is an exact mirror of the other – appear to be sourced from a Russian PDF, because of course. /Film has a rough translation of the text.
Word on the street is we can expect official promotion for the film to start soon.
The Last Jedi is EW’s latest cover story
Entertainment Weekly is back with their latests news dump for The Last Jedi. The cover reveal story sheds some light on Laura Dern’s Amilyn Holdo and her role in the Resistance; The obligatory gallery features several new quotes and photos.
Mark Hamill and Rian Johnson discuss Luke’s return to the Millenium Falcon.
On Kylo Ren and Rey, and where that dynamic is going. (Plus some interesting stuff on why Ben might have turned.)
Coming up tomorrow: Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran, and crystal foxes.
The Han Solo film will (finally) show us Corellia
Looks like the Han Solo film will finally take us to Corellia. “Those #Corellian nights get a little chilly,” director Ron Howard tweets. “Screenwriter @JonKasdan and I try to keep warm.” We’ve seen the burning droid a few times in Howard’s shares from the set, but the confirmation that we’ll finally see Han’s home planet on screen? Priceless.

Everyone is cantina fighting in the latest Han Solo set pics
Ron Howard has graced us with a few new set snaps of the Han Solo film. The first, “a dark and strange new corner of the Galaxy” appears to be our first (official) look at Alden Ehrenrich as Han (although: “Adam Driver” in Resistance pilot gear, never forget.) The second is an “intense & cool action scene” where we can’t make much out, but the locale does seem to be Mos Eisley-inspired.
Meanwhile, on the rumor front, seems like the Millennium Falcon may have a different look for this one. Though not too different.
Spoilerphobes beware: Episode VIII Pinewood sets spied from above
The Daily Mail has some images of outdoor sets being built for Episode VIII at Pinewood. The first, which appears near-finished, is very similar to Skellig Michael/Ahch-To. Two others remain mysterious. Also present: The Millennium Falcon. View at your own discretion.
