Cover and summary for Troy Denning’s Tempest is up. Let the debates begin!
First Betrayal review
The Publishers Weekly review of Aaron Allston’s Betrayal is up at Amazon.com. It’s quite favorable but does contain a bit of new information.
Random Character Patterns
Sue Rostoni has posted a character list for Denning’s Tempest, third book of the Legacy of the Force series. This is not the Dramatis Personae, just a quick list without species or affiliations.
ETA: Apparently this was just a rehash of the Personae list from Betrayal, because the original was incomplete. Sigh.
Allston live (and in color!)
Aaron Allston is going out on tour next month for Betrayal, the first in the Legacy of the Force series. The tour tips off in Orlando for Disney’s Star Wars Weekends and continues to Indianapolis, St. Louis, Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth. Dates and details beneath the cut!
Oh wow…
The cover of Darth Bane: Path of Destruction is awesome. It’s by John Jude Palencar, one of those fantasy artists whose work I like but never expected to see on a Star Wars cover.
We’ve also got names for book 4 and 5 of Legacy – #4 is Exile and #5 is Sacrifice, by Allston and Traviss respectively.
And for you NJO fans, Hyperspace is now running Greg Keyes’ Emissary of the Void, a six-part story previously printed in Star Wars Gamer and the Insider.
Leaked Tempest
Hot on the heels of the Bloodlines preview, JacenSol0 on the TFN boards found what’s believed to be the jacket text for Troy Denning’s Tempest, the third book of Legacy of the Force, on U.K. bookstore site.
Because this is a lot more detailed than the previous blurbs, I’ve spoilered it. Highlight the text in the box below to read:
As the stand-off between the Galactic Alliance and its rebellious member states erupts into full-blown battle, the new Corellian leadership develops a desperate plan to draw the Hapan Consortium into the war on their side. But, the plot poses a moral quandry for Han and Leia Solo, who cannot abide deliberately spreading the war any more than they can the murder of the Hapan Queen Mother, ex-Jedi Knight Tenel Ka. Taking it upon themselves to save her life – and that of her young daughter, Allana – the Solos set in motion a firestorm of confusion and mayhem that will pit children against parents, bring Luke Skywalker into battle with his foremost nemesis, and leave them at the mercy of one of the Jedi’s oldest and most deadly enemies.
I’m not sure if this is official, so take it with a grain of salt.
A first look at Bloodlines
Starwars.com has posted the cover and summary of the Karen Traviss’ Bloodlines, the second book of the Legacy of the Force series. Here’s the blurb:
Civil war looms as the fledgling Galactic Alliance confronts a growing number of worlds set on rebellion — and the approaching war is tearing the Skywalker and Solo families apart. Han’s Corellian roots and Luke’s dedication to the Jedi order are driving a wedge between the families. Han and Leia’s children, Jacen and Jaina, are soldiers in the Galactic Alliance’s campaign to crush the insurgents. Luke and Mara are unable to protect their son Ben from war. The quest of an assassin draws out a dreaded name from the past: Boba Fett. And in the new galactic order, friends and enemies are no longer what they seem…
Bloodlines will be out in September; the first of the series, Aaron Allston’s Betrayal, is due in May.
Dramatis Personae for Betrayal
Sue Rostoni has posted the character list for Aaron Allston’s Betrayal, the first book of the Legacy series. There’s also a (very) short excerpt.
You can catch up on what else we know about Legacy and Betrayal at Suzanne’s blog.
This thing of darkness
An early look at the cover for Allston’s Betrayal, the first book in the Legacy of the Force series.
Word on the street says that’s Jacen on the cover, and with “the legacy of the Skywalkers may come full circle” bit… Well.
Also on the boards today, word from Sue Rostoni on the third book of the Legacy series – it’s Tempest by Troy Denning.
ETA: Suzanne at starwars.com has put together an excellent post on all that’s known of Legacy so far.
Catching up with the EU
First Look at Last of the Jedi #4: Death on Naboo is up now. Appears to be pretty heavy on the Ferus action.
Meanwhile on the boards, Sue Rostoni said that we should be getting a peek at Aaron Allston’s Legacy of the Force: Betrayal within the next few weeks.
