Jimmy Kimmel Live was almost all Star Wars last night. As expected, it was low on revelations, but Rian Johnson did reveal the first word of the film, and we spotted a couple of familiar faces in the audience…
John Boyega talks to Jimmy Fallon about The Last Jedi, missing Harrison Ford, the royal visit, and shows off some vintage dance moves.
Daisy Ridley was on The Tonight Show last night, where she talked about Barbra Streisand, Carrie Fisher, bartending the wrap party, and took the whisper challenge.
Oscar Isaac talks about getting slapped by Carrie Fisher during The Last Jedi filming on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Woody Harrelson revealed his Star Wars character’s name on Jimmy Fallon last night: Beckett. (That’s the standard spelling, anyway.) He’s “kind of a criminal” and a “mentor” (as we knew) to Han Solo.
There are no previously-existing characters with that name in Star Wars. But hopefully this means no one will ask him about Garris Shrike again.
The still-untitled Han Solo standalone is filming now and set for a May 2018 release.
“Carrie’s favorite possession was a giant Prozac pill that she bought many years ago. A big pill,” Todd explained. “She loved it, and it was in her house, and Billie and I felt it was where she’d want to be.”
He also said the private service for family and friends on Thursday – attended by Meryl Streep, George Lucas and others – was “fitting” and ” beautiful.”
Yesterday also saw Fisher’s Star Wars son, Adam Driver, share his thoughts on the actress with Stephen Colbert. Here’s the clip:
Harrison Ford continues his rounds promoting The Force Awakens Blu-ray with a stop on Jimmy Kimmel Live, talking about the death of Han Solo, the return of Indiana Jones, and hanging out with MC Hammer.
He also stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show with advice for the new Han Solo…
Harrison Ford’s appearance on The Tonight Show last night was joyfully bizarre. There were Academy Award jokes:
And it all ends with a doll mutilation:
It’s going to be a busy week for our DVRs. Good Morning America will have J.J. Abrams on Monday, Harrison Ford on Tuesday, and John Boyega and Daisy Ridley on Wednesday. Carrie Fisher will be on Live with Michael and Kelly on Thursday.
Abrams and Ford will also be on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday and Tuesday. Then, Lupita Nyong’o will be on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Wednesday, while Fallon will host Adam Driver. Daisy Ridley will be on Fallon Thursday night.
Last night’s The Force Awakens episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live was short on actual news, but at least our folks were somewhat charming. Below the cut, J.J. Abrams reveals the first word of the movie, Harrison Ford and Chewbacca settle their long-time feud, and Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley are defeated in Star Wars trivia by a 7-year-old, because of course.
