Yeager and Kaz get promotions in Sunday’s new episode of Star Wars Resistance, ‘Live Fire,’ while Tam gets even deeper into the First Order.
Kaz officially joins the Aces, as does Yeager – who trains them to become better combat pilots. Meanwhile, Tam learns what it’s like to be a First Order pilot.
When it was announced that Star Wars Resistance would end after only two seasons, fans were taken a bit bu surprise – but according to the higher ups, that was always the plan.
“We were using the movies as a guideline,” executive producer Brandon Auman explained. “We felt that Season 1 is like, you know, it all takes place on a planet then Season 2, it now takes place in space. And now it’s going to lead, boom, right into the last movie.”
Makes sense – it’s easy to forget that Resistance is only Lucasfilm Animation’s third show – and the first to deal primarily with movies that are still in production.
Kaz gets hold of some stormtrooper armor in Star Wars Resistance’s ‘The New Trooper.’ I’m sure it will go swimingly.
When Kel and Eila seek out Kaz’s help after accidentally knocking out a First Order stormtrooper, Kaz dons the trooper’s armor in an effort to collect more information on the First Order.
We also learn why the First Order is so interested in the Colossus in the preview clip. That and more pictures under the cut.
We meet a famous racer with a connection to Yeager in “The Platform Classic,” Sunday’s new episode of Star Wars Resistance.
Kaz uses the upcoming “Platform Classic” to reunite Yeager with someone from his past, Marcus – who happens to be in deep with the Guavian Death Gang. After Marcus’ mechanic is kidnapped, Kaz assists him in preparing for the race, learning more about Yeager in the process.
Meet the cast of Resistance – or at least the “Team Fireball” portion: Kazuda Xiono (Christopher Sean), Jarek Yeager (Scott Lawrence), Tam Ryvora (Suzie McGrath), and Neeku Vozo (Josh Brener).
The characters now have entries on the Databank as well: Kazuda, Jarek, Tam, Neeku and droid Bucket.
Still nothing on the frog, though. And I assume we’ll get some more details on the last key figure on the poster, Myrna Velasco’s Torra Doza, in another video, since she must have her own team.
Well, that was quick. As rumored, Resistance is coming on Sunday, October 7 to the Disney Channel, and we have a trailer!
We see Poe Dameron, BB-8 and even a glimpse of Phasma. Here’s some more details from StarWars.com:
We’re also thrilled to bring you intel on the first episode! In the one-hour premiere “The Recruit,” Poe and BB-8 assign Kaz to the Colossus, where he meets a cast of colorful new aliens, droids and creatures. While undercover to spy on the growing threat of the First Order, Kaz works as a mechanic and lives with Poe’s old friend Yeager — a veteran pilot who operates a starship repair shop run by his crew: Tam, Neeku and a battered old astromech called Bucket.
“Can you imagine what it’s like to be an ace pilot?” Kaz asks.
