Star Wars with occasional sarcasm
For the Americans, have a safe and happy Fourth, and remember, if you must blow stuff up, at least be safe about it: We don’t want to give any stray Jedi a headache. In the spirit of the season, Scalzi has rated Sci Fi movies by their explosions. Both Star Wars and Return of the Jedi make the cut.
TheForce.Net has word of some exclusive and limited edition Hallmark ornaments. (Scroll past the part where they meant to link to our original 2009 Hallmark post.) The first two are a Shock Trooper and Shadow Trooper two pack available only at Comic-Con. Greedo is the limited edition: You’ll have to head into your local store for the Keepsake Ornament Premiere Weekend on July 11th and 12th to nab him. Who shots first is entirely up to you.
I fail to see how regular string lights would conflict with Star Wars holiday or party decor, but for those of you who want to get as much branded merchandise as possible into one room, Artoo and Yoda light strings are here. Or will be, anyway.
Almost ten years of The Phantom Menace… Mother’s Day… What else? This was one of several ‘tone poem’ commercials running back in ’99.
It’s May, so of course the Dream Book is out, because nothing says spring like planning out your Christmas tree. This year’s Star Wars selections are include The Phantom Menace duel (above,) Han in Stormtrooper gear, Luke’s landspeeder, and a Clone Wars twofer of Anakin and Ahsoka.
Also of interest: Indiana Jones, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters and my personal grinchy favorite, the Wicked Witch of the West.

A British phone company is offering for sale an underground tunnel complex built during World War II as a bomb shelter! A virtual bargain at only $7.4 million, particularly when one notes that it contains a bar. Santa Maul regrets that London is not convenient to his lifestyle, else he would buy it himself, or rather whammy the current owners into thinking he did.
