The Hallmark Keepsake Dream Book ’08 is out, and their Star Wars offerings this year have a Return of the Jedi theme, with an Imperial shuttle, Luke and Vader’s final duel, and Emperor Palpatine. The miniatures set is a Star Destroyer and the incomplete Death Star. Check them all out for yourself on page 64 (page 65 has Star Trek and Indiana Jones) or via the screencap beneath the cut. Hallmark cards now slightly less vomitastic
It’s nothing new to see Star Wars cards at Hallmark (How many of you received that musical one for a birthday?) but now there are more of them. Whoo.
Also this week…
A few things we missed while pursuing (and avoiding!) Harry Potter.
- Hallmark’s new Star Wars ornaments now in stores.
- TOSblog interviews Jon “Blasty” Leopold of the 501st about their team-up with the West Michigan Whitecaps.
- Another look at the CE ‘saber battle.
- Coke landspeeder put to use.
- Movies.com reader poll asks for nominee submissions.
- Toyfare mocks Holiday Special.
- Darth Vader Laptop. Warning: designation as actual ‘laptop’ is questionable.
- 501st’s Celebration Europe roundup.
It’s almost summer…
Which means it’s time for our first(ish) look at this year’s Hallmark ornaments You can download the Dreambook 2007 in PDF form. No Star Wars mini ornaments this year, but bringing back them back was a common request the Hallmark booth heard at C4, say our sources. (Thanks to Rach and Diane.)
Christmas gets earlier every year
Christmas in July
Rebelscum reports that this year’s Star Wars ornaments will debut at Hallmark next weekend.
Warm up those wallets…
Have you been saving your Republic credits? Because Lucasfilms’ licensees have a lot in store for you, this year:
The Celebration 3 Exclusive Figure
The Official Pix license awarded to C2 Ventures
The new line of stickers from Mello Smello (alas, not scratch’n’sniff)
The Hallmark Ornaments for 2005
The ROTS Topps Cards (Spoilers abound!)
This just adds to the list that includes the previously announced books, action figures and the rather nifty, yet oh-so-pricey, window blinds.
Must start playing the lottery, again.
