Everything comics at StarWars.com today. Firstly, the Invasion preview is up and running. Secondly, the August 2009 comic solicitations, including Invasion #2 (of 5?!?) The Clone Wars #8, Dark Times #16, Knights of the Old Republic #44, and Legacy #39.
Out this week: Dark Times, KOTOR
Comic fans will have two issues waiting for them on Wednesday: Dark Times #13 and Knights of the Old Republic #40.
First look at Dark Horse’s July comics
Rebelscum has Dark Horse’s July comic solicitations, including Invasion #1, The Clone Wars #7 and Legacy #38, above.
Previews: Legacy, Dark Times, TCW comics
We haven’t seen any comic previews for a bit – and trust, I’ve been looking! – but today Dark Horse put up three of them: Legacy #35, Dark Times #13, and The Clone Wars #5, all supposedly due this month. Props to EUC for spotting them first.
Dark Horse solicitations for June 2009
StarWars.com has the June 09 comic teases. The Legacy blurb is of particular interest, given yesterday’s John Ostrander and Jan Duursema interview:
When word reaches Moff Nyna Calixte that Imperial convoys are being attacked by Black Sun Pirates, she sends her daughter, “Gunner” Yage, and Gunner’s squadron of crack fighter pilots to intervene. But what neither of them knows is that the pirates themselves are under attack by other pirates — Cade Skywalker and the crew of the Mynock.
Despite his victory over Emperor Darth Krayt, Cade is still the galaxy’s most-wanted criminal, and Gunner’s squad is itching for another shot at him! Longtime readers: You can see what’s coming, right?
That’s Legacy #37, which kicks off the ‘Tatooine’ storyline. Also solicited are Knights of the Old Republic #42, (featuring The Rocketeer?) Dark Times #15 and new Omnibus, Menace Revealed, featuring a hodgepodge of stuff set between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
EUbits: Deathtroopers, comics, new short story
The hype continues. Joe Schreiber reports that that the first look at Deathtroopers got over 50,000 page views. It’s officially big on the internet! (Plus he’ll be at NYCC this weekend with some extremely unofficial swag – the book’s soundtrack.)
Meanwhile, we have another sighting: Literary agent Colleen Lindsay, with nothing but praise.
- Solicitations: StarWars.com has the May 2009 comics, including Star Wars Adventures: Princess Leia and the Royal Ransom, Legacy #6, Knights of the Old Republic #41, Dark Times #14 and The Clone Wars #6.
- Comic: Get your Dark Times fix with ‘Blue Harvest’ part 2 on MySpace.
- Short stories: A new Hyperspace story, ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Praji,’ by Nathan O’Keefe.
April comics: Dark Times, Legacy, and more
In addition to the big Blood Oath reveal, last night brought us Dark Horse’s April solicitations. Included are the return of Dark Times; Knights of the Old Republic #40; Legacy #35 and The Clone Wars #5 (Slave girl outfits for everyone!) And lastly, the second Vector collection, including its run in Rebellion and Legacy. Don’t plan to skip this one if you’re following Legacy in trades!
EUbits: Stover and Harrison interviews, Rebel Force, everyone has a canon position
Matthew Stover and That Upcoming Luke Novel. There are only 21 days to Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, and Bookspot Central has a lengthy interview with Stover.
There’s plenty about his infuences, the Caine books, and of course, Star Wars, starting about halfway. (via)
- Comics: There’s another interview over at CBR, this one with Dark Times writer Mick Harrison; The Clone Wars: Crash Course preview.
- Titles: SWbooks noticed that Rebel Force #3 is Renegade on Amazon. (via)
- Hot topic: People sure have strong feelings about canon… I don’t know why this surprises me.
EUbits: Dark Times returning, TOR, Endor
Comics: There’s a new update from Editor Randy Stradley on Dark Horse’s Star Wars Zone, and it’s of particular interest to you Dark Times fans. A new story will appear (online, for free) in the January and February issues of Dark Horse Presents on MySpace, with the comic coming back into regular rotation with #13 in April. (Thanks, Zee Zee!)
- The Old Republic: New screenshots, new aliens, and what may be visual proof of that whole lightsaber size thing.
- Reference: From what I’m seeing in the fanboy underground, the StarWars.com unveiling of Castaways of Endor is a big deal. Alas, requires Hyperspace.
Details from Dark Horse on Dark Times, digests
TFN has a report from the Dark Horse panel at Baltimore Comic-Con. Dark Times will be returning in 2009, I’m guessing in the spring, when The Clone Wars miniseries runs its course. (No word on Rebellion.) TCW digest will go on, and they also gave out a bit on the new digest, Star Wars Adventures:
It will feature the same animated art style of the current digest sized books, and will focus on the Classic Trilogy characters, including Han and Chewie. Look for a story from Jeremy Barlow in the first issue.
And yes, Crimson Empire III is still a no-go.
