Trisha Biggar up for Costume Design award
Variety reports that Episode III Costume Designer Trisha Biggar has been nominated by the Costume Designers Guild for Excellence in Fantasy Film. She’s up against the costume designers of Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Sin City. Hyperspace members can read the full story here.

Almost Nominated
Revenge of the Sith is a finalist for three Academy Awards: Makeup, Sound Editing and (of course) Visual Effects.
The People love Sith
According to starwars.com, Revenge of the Sith won two People’s Choice awards: Favorite Movie: Drama and Favorite Movie.

Episode 3 has also earned four nominations from the Visual Effects Society.

Darth Vader is one of Time magazine’s people who mattered for 2005, the only fictional character on the list.
In other honors, Revenge of the Sith has been shortlisted as a pre-nominee for the Visual Effects Oscar.
Episode III soundtrack Grammy nominations
John Williams’ score for Revenge of the Sith got two Grammy award nominations today. The album is up for Score Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media and the track “Anakin’s Betrayal” is up for Best Instrumental Composition.

ROTS wins some glory
Considering there will probably not be anything beyond the possibility of a technical Oscar for Revenge of the Sith, we are pleased to report that Revenge of the Sith was named Hollywood Movie of the Year for 2005. (It knocked out Batman Begins and War of the Worlds for the honor.)
And while one might argue that the Star Wars internet presence swayed the voting just a bit (it’s voted on by the public), there still had to be some non-geek support to get this through. So we’ll go with being pleased by the award.
Those living in the Southern California area might wish to note that Uncle George, himself, will be accepting the award on Monday, the 24th.
