Rogue One’s The Last Jedi easter egg

Eagle-eyed (eared?) fan @kyleauxren noticed that a key plot point of The Last Jedi was referenced a year ago in Rogue One.

Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo confirmed it was deliberate, and that the First Order was again building on old Imperial developments:

  1. Cantonica is in the Corporate sector, Han Solo’s greatest adventures were set there, so a chance we will be returning to that area of the galaxy perhaps.
