Jedi Bibliothek spotted preview pages for Rogue One: The Official Visual Guide Story on Edelweiss, which reveals several character names and new vehicles – plus our first clear look at two new aliens and the droid glimpsed briefly in the trailer. These may be considered spoilerly, so check out what we’ve learned under the cut.
The page ‘Heroes of the Rebel Alliance’ is the most unreadable due to size, but we can glean that Felicity Jones’s Jyn Erso is “a highly skilled soldier and warrior;” Diego Luna is Captain Cassian Andor, “an officer in the Rebel Alliance;” Jiang Wen is Baze, “a freelance assassin;” Riz Ahmed’s Bodhi is a rebel soldier, and Donnie Yen’s Chirrut, is “a spiritual warrior.” The new alien characters, actors unknown, are Pao and Bistan, both “fierce warriors.”
The droid, K-250 (or maybe K-2SO) who we believe is played by Alan Tudyk, gets his own page. Though on the side of the Rebels, he’s a imperial model enforcer droid.
And finally, Ben Mendelsohn is Director Krennic, referred to as “the Director of the Imperial Military.”
New ships include a Imperial TIE Striker and a Rebel U-Wing. Check out the images in the gallery below. (Note many – but not all – of the pages use dummy text.)
The book is scheduled for release on January 24, 2017, more than a month after the film’s on December 16.
UPDATE: Pablo Hidalgo says this isn’t the book he’s writing.
