Finding Sanctuary on SciFi

GateWorld talks to Amanda Tapping about the world not being quite ready for an internet-only series business model, excitement about ways to continue to use the internet, redoing the Sanctuary pilot, and the mixed feelings about branching out from her Stargate family.

Additional Stargate casting changes are supposed to be out today.  We’ll keep watching for The Big Announcement.  (Well, as much as we can while still pretending to work.)

Writer’s strike winding down?

Friday saw a breakthrough in talks between Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and the Writers Guild, reports the New York Times:

Informal talks between representatives of Hollywood’s striking writers and production companies have eliminated the major roadblocks to a new contract, which could lead to a tentative agreement as early as next week, according to people who were briefed on the situation but requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak.

We can only hope…

More Clone Wars news from Toy Fair

Word on the street (again) is that folks are claiming (again) that the first three episodes of the series will indeed receive a theatrical release. (Remember, in November Lucasfilm danced around the early reports with TFN.) Now, action-figure.com is saying that Hasbro is keeping Star Wars on the press downlow, and Time says that Lucasfilm Animation in Singapore will “spearhead Lucasfilm’s first animated feature film this year.”

And what to make of this supposed game tie-in? (Warning: Spoilers.) Not exactly the most reliable source in the world but interesting.

I can’t see this staying under wraps for too long. How long will we have to wait for official word? Hopefully not San Diego… The U.S. Toyfair later this month? And while WonderCon is later this month, have they ever done a major announcement there?
