Supposedly the special is playing on ABC’s site, but I can’t get anything there but commercials and promos. And people wonder why Youtube is so popular?
Talking with an effects legend

More polls, please!
Imadra Blue is polling for Star Wars fandom preferences on the Livejournal. It’s mainly a saga (mostly prequel) oriented poll, both because that’s Jax’s corner of fandom and because there isn’t really a huge contingent of active EU fans there. (Obligatory pimping of starwars_eu and marafics. And yes, there will be a giant EU poll sooner rather than later. As usual, I have more ideas than time to type them.)
And don’t forget to vote in our first sidebar poll! Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been holding a steady lead in what you want the most for 2008. Looks like I’ll have to buy JawaJames a whip!

Indiana Jones and some random merchandise of doom?
StarWars.com reports that the Topps Indiana Jones Heritage trading card set will come with Artist Sketch cards. Read more about it here. Or go here to see a list of the artists. And there’s also Vintage Sticker Magnets. The cards are supposed to be coming out at the tail end of February – probably this week!
Meanwhile, who’s the most adorable adventurer with a whip and fedora? I think the Mighty Muggs version of Indiana Jones might be the winner here – check out that Mola Ram with flaming heart accessory! and you thought the Star Wars Mighty Muggs were cute.
And speaking of Mola Ram, here’s what he will look like in the upcoming LEGO Indiana Jones video game.
But if a cool statue of Indiana Jones in that classic scene from the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark is more to your taste, you can get one of those too.
And the Oscar goes to…
The Golden Compass took the VFX Oscar. Sorry, ILM. Needless to say, that was pretty much the only genre win of the night, but you can check out the rest of the winners at Oscar.com.
Dark Horse plotting “super-deluxe volume”
Look out: Dark Horse has something hefty in store for the holiday season. Literally hefty. So sayth Randy Stradley on their boards:
Start saving your money now, because we’re about to announce a $100, 800-page, super-deluxe volume in time for Christmas this year. It won’t be a limited edition, so there should be plenty to go around…
No, I’m not joking. For once.
What could it be? The most plausible speculation on TFN seems to be some sort of Clone Wars omnibus, to tie in with the TV series. But it looks like we won’t have to wait long to find out.

There was Star Wars stuff at WonderCon, too!
The official blog has a roundup/transcript of Steve Sansweet’s panel, which started off with the Celebration Japan announcement (CJ? HA!) The rest of the first part is Steve talking to The Force Unleashed assistant producer Brett Rector, who confirms a few pesky rumors… Including one about the big dude himself. (Vader, not George. Sorry.) The second part skims a bit to an appearance by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, who talk Robot Chicken. And part three, with all the juicy Clone Wars goodness!
