Look for Knight Errant: Aflame #3 and the tenth Legacy trade collection, Extremes, in comic shops on Wednesday. The second Clone Wars Magazine might also make an appearance.

The two even face off in the category Writing in a Television Production: Daniel Arkin for Clone Wars ‘Heroes on Both Sides’ and Geoff Johns, Matthew Beans, Zeb Wells, Hugh Sterbakov, Matthew Senreich, Breckin Meyer, Seth Green, Mike Fasolo, Douglas Goldstein, Tom Root, Dan Milano, Kevin Shinick & Hugh Davidson (phew) for Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III
Mystery Star Wars book (series?) spotted on Amazon UK
EDIT: I’ll leave the rest of the post untouched, but check the comments: This is probably a false alarm (on my part,) and the book will likely turn out to be the Century edition of Red Harvest or Choices of One.
An odd item was found on Amazon.co.uk by one of our readers, Richard: A listing for ‘Star Wars 7 book series no 1’ from Century (which published the adult novels in the U.K.) listed a July 7, 2011 hardcover.
First off, I strongly discourage getting your hopes up (or down) over this. While catalog leaks are certainly not unknown, I do hesitate to trust Amazon completely when it comes to this sort of information.
In any case, this is odd on a number of levels: The schedule for 2011 has been public for quite a while, with all the mystery spots filled. And with Fate of the Jedi not wrapping up until November, it’s highly doubtful this would be a post-ROTJ storyline… (Though a longer series in some other era would certainly excite at least a few people.)
Also keep in mind that it was only January that Sue Rostoni said that another long series was highly unlikely. Of course, that was almost a year ago, and it’s possible that something could be in the works for 2012. (And got misdated at some point, perhaps?)
Another thought: As of May, there will be 7 books released in the Fate of the Jedi series. The eighth book (Golden’s Ascension) is scheduled for August. Perhaps Century is repackaging the first seven books in hopes of revitalizing interest? Of course, that doesn’t explain the ‘no 1’ or lack of an author or the price. (Now, if it was listed as an eBook…)
In any case, a delightful mystery. Or something.
George Lucas planning to resurrect dead movie stars with digital magic? Lucasfilm says no.
Mel Smith (who directed Radioland Murders) told British tabloid The Sun that George Lucas plans to breathe new life into stars of the past.
“George has been buying up the film rights to dead actors in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together, so you’d have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck alongside today’s stars.”
UPDATE: The quote is originally from an interview in The Daily Mail. Not sure that’s much better as far as reliability goes.
All I can say to this is: Wha? It’s not completely far-fetched, but my doubt circuits are fully engaged on this one.
UPDATE: And Lucasfilm has called bull. Spokesman Josh Kushins told Underwire that “this rumor is completely false.”
Video: Inside Game Of Thrones
The ten-minute preview that was teased last week. Is it April yet?
“We’re all fine here now, thank you.”
More happy news from Katie’s introduction to fandom. (This is the little girl who was deluged with love after her mom wrote about her being teased for liking Star Wars.) Her mom reports that she has not only gotten some awesome stuff from fans, but she has learned lessons from folks who have written in and is now helping others.
Rock on, Katie! Here’s hoping we all live up to your example.
Are you naughty or nice? Santa Maul will decide.
As occasionally noted on the Twitter, Santa Maul has been making lists. To find out if you are nice or naughty, all you must do is follow Santa Maul there. Simple, is it not?
It should be noted that Santa Maul does not check his lists twice. That is the way cowardly Jedi do things.
Star Wars at Detroit’s Urban Craft Fair
I headed out to the Detroit Urban Craft Fair this morning… And came across a couple of Star Wars items. Jason Gibner does simple but adorable character paintings. It was Robocop who originally caught our eye, but I bought the Wampa you see above, but he still had a few (including Yoda, Jabba Boba Fett and an Ewok, right) when I left. You can check out the full array on Facebook.
(Irony: I actually blogged about Gibner back in ’07, when his Star Wars pad made the Metro Times’ Motor City Cribs feature.)
The jaunty watercolor Ackbar by Leslie Gauthier also caught my eye. (Have a better look at her blog.)
Of course I forgot my real camera, so apologies for the cruddy iPhone pics. The show is open until 7pm tonight and runs through tomorrow at the Fillmore Detroit (nee The State Theater) downtown. If you’re in the area, I strongly suggest you head out. There’s plenty of art and handmade goods to please everyone!
Video: Christmas with the Joker
Santa Maul would be well amiss if he did not pay tribute to the Joker this holiday season. He has it on good authority that Batman does indeed have a tendency to smell worse than a 501st changing room after a warm-weather march.
Santa Maul is also sure that he should be linking to Rebelscum’s holiday gift guide. He assumes most of you will be quite aware of these items already, but would rather not be pestered by that gangly social media elf of theirs.
Last Clone Wars of the year on tonight
The Clone Wars is back briefly tonight with ‘Pursuit of Peace’ before taking off until the new year. (Unless you’re attending a screening, that is.) Still, StarWars.com has kindly offered up a preview clip.
