Tolkien didn’t always get good reviews – the BBC has excerpts of reviews from when his books were first published:

And so we have the first trailer. I am really loving the look of this. Actual focus on character. Wonderfully filmed. I think this will be a Batman I can get behind!

In the midst of all the Comic Con Star Wars excitement, I forgot that the LOTR folks screened a preview of the Return of the King extended DVD there. Theonering.net has the scoop and some pictures.

The BBC has a list of 25 reasons why Star Wars is great. It’s a tad British (Who is the Green Cross Code Man?) but still quite funny.
