Traviss’ Fett novella to debut online

In August, Del Rey will publish A Practical Man, an e-novella by Karen Traviss filling in the details leading up to Boba Fett’s brief cameo in The Unifying Force.

Although there’s no price noted in the official release, it appears that Barnes & Noble has it retailing for $3.50.

The starwars.com item also gives fans a look at the Fettastic finished cover for Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines, which is due out in September.

Lego’s ode to profit

Fortune article on Lego CEO Jorgen Vig Knudstorp mentions Star Wars:

When Lego decided in 1999 to launch a Star Wars series, recalls Jakobsen, “getting the license from Lucas was nothing compared to the internal struggle over having the word ‘war’ appear under the Lego brand.”

The rest of the article is actually rather depressing. I can’t say streamlining a business and making it more profitable are bad things, but Fortune makes it sound like any of the other company goals are irrelevant. (I guess that’s why I’m not the type of person who reads stuff like Fortune.)

Meanwhile, Starwars.com wants your vote on what the next Ultimate Collectors Set should be: R2-D2, FX-6, Vulture Droid Starfighter or an Electronic AT-AT walker? I don’t think the FX or the Vulture droid has much of a chance here…

Legacy #0 out today

The preview issue of the controversial comic series that takes place 100 years into the future of Star Wars will be available in a comic store near you tomorrow for only 25 cents. The comic is written by by John Ostrander, with art by Jan Duursema, the folks behind the Republic series that had fanboys salivating.

At least, we can hope it comes out tomorrow, as #0 has been pushed back pretty much every week so far.

In any case, there’s a hefty article up on Newsarama for your perusal.
