The official site profiles Jason Felix, the cover artist for the Legacy of the Force series.
Fresh fodder for the Sci-Fi Channel
The Sci-Fi Channel has picked up the rights to run Star Trek: Enterprise and several other canceled genre shows, including Kindred: The Embraced, Threshold, Wolf Lake, Haunted, and Jake 2.0. (Weren’t they already running Jake 2.0?) Also in on the deal are a pair of Stephen King miniseries, The Stand and The Langoliers.

A group of Firefly/Serenity fans have made Done the Impossible, a film documenting their passion and fandom. It can be purchased from their website, or downloaded for free with a torrent client.
More Star Power for HP
Continuing their stroll through the best of British actors, Warner Brothers has confirmed that Helena Bonham Carter will be playing Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix.
Still waiting for Ewan McGregor to participate!
In other HP news, it appears that there are at least two well-known authors who are trying to keep Harry Potter alive at the end of the series. John Irving and Stephen King apparently wrote to JK Rowling, asking her not to kill off the beloved wizard.
Only time will tell….
Truth behind the Youtube ‘crackdown’
Straight from the horse’s mouth – the mass removal of fan and parody vids at Youtube was a mistake. Lucasfilm did ask Youtube to remove video containing ‘material taken from starwars.com’ (probably the Force-powers game concept vid, which was only released to Hyperspace members) and Youtube misunderstood. LFL has asked the site to restore the deleted videos.
Fly, my pretties!
Company called Skywalker Jets has prototyped a working rocket pack. Who will get to them first? LFL with a C&D for the company name, or the particularly rich Boba Fett cosplayers?
Fandom giveth, and LFL taketh away
Several Star Wars videos on Youtube have been removed due to requests from Lucasfilm. This isn’t a new phenomenon by any means, but it appears the number of users and videos affected is fairly large this time, and not limited to direct DVD rips like the bloopers I linked Monday, but also older fanvids and the like. Surprise. Not.
Hopefully this means less emo Anakin vids. That development I could certainly get behind. Now if only there was a way to filter out all the eighth graders ‘practicing’ with lightsiders…
On the plus side, episode 2 of Chad Vader – Day Shift Manager went up last night. Most parody works, which are the majority of what we link, should be safe. But be warned that any and all videos we link are subject to vanish without warning.
The slash writes itself
Warner Brothers announces the official title of the next Bat-flick will be The Dark Knight, and Heath Ledger is confirmed to play the Joker. Slashtastic! (And you folks complaining about Ledger’s turn in Brokeback Mountain damaging the franchise may want to rent Velvet Goldmine.)
Rumor says they want Philip Seymour Hoffman for the Penguin, and Ryan Phillippe is a possibility for Harvey Dent/Two-Face.
I know.
Popwatch points to another list of movie endings that includes The Empire Strikes Back. This time it’s #6!
Fan making fanfilm! Shocking!
The Edmonton Sun seems pretty excited about it, anyway. Let’s note that ‘Lucasfilm-approved storylines’ does not mean the fanfilm itself is approved by LFL. It just means they’re basing the thing on known backstory about Han, Lando, and the Falcon.
