Next week, however, we get Aftermath: Empire’s End. We’ve already seen posters and one excerpt – expect a bit more hype this week.
A Legends-to-new-canon cheat sheet
io9 rounds up some (most?) of the new canon’s Legends imports, or at least those that came up since the old Expanded Universe actually became Legends. I can’t really tell if this is complete, since most of them are fairly minor.
I would say Thrawn is about the most major, since the concepts of things like a “New Republic” and “Leia and Han’s kid going dark” are fairly broad. And in any case, this list is likely to grow with Aftermath: Empire’s End coming out in a matter of weeks.

Rumor: Westworld’s Thandie Newton in talks for Han standalone
Both Variety and The Wrap report that Thandie Newton, most recently of HBO’s Westworld, is in talks for a role in the 2018 Han Solo standalone.
The Han movie, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, began filming recently, and this is the second casting rumor this week. So far only Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clark have been confirmed by Lucasfilm.
Rumor: Pheobe Waller-Bridge in talks for CGI role in Han standalone

Variety reports that Pheobe Waller-Bridge, creator and star of the Amazon series Fleabag, is in talks for a “CGI-driven” role in the Han Solo standalone.
They describe her characters as “a significant part of the ensemble,” so something more in line with Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO in Rogue One than Lupita Nyong’o’s Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens.
The movie stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke. It’s directed Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who recently noted that it had begun filming. It’s due out in 2018.
Josh Gad enlists Judi Dench in quest to pester Daisy Ridley on The Last Jedi
Josh Gad followed up with Daisy Ridley on his The Last Jedi “sneak attack.” With another sneak attack. But the real kicker here is the third video, which features Dame Judi Dench asking “What’s the deal with Reylo?” If only we knew, Dame Judi. (Okay, I kid: It’s a pretty typical ship, even if it does give some of us the willies.)
Remember that rumor that Dench would be playing Mon Mothma in The Force Awakens? And then remember how Genevieve O’Reilly actually showed up in a Rogue One trailer with none of us even hearing a hint of it beforehand? Gotta wonder if some major wire crossing happened in the rumor streams. Ahh, memories.

Disney to open Star Wars lands in 2019
Disney has announced when we can start to expect their Star Wars lands to open, and it’s earlier than speculated: 2019! The two parks – at Disneyland in Anaheim and Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando – are currently under construction.

The Clone Wars to leave Netflix streaming next month?
If you’ve been meaning to watch (or rewatch) The Clone Wars cartoon on Netflix, looks like it’s time to stop procrastinating. Per one eagle-eyed fan, the series will only be streaming on the service through March 3. The good news is, as of this post, you have just under a month to watch all 121 episodes.
The series has been streaming since March 7, 2014, when Netflix debuted the show’s final season. It’s been the only official Star Wars content on the streaming service in the U.S. (Rogue One – at least – will be coming later this year, under Disney’s current deal.)
Blu-rays of the show are still fairly easy to get hold of – including a 2013 box set of the first 5 seasons. But I’ve seen some speculation (nothing solid) that this could mean a new box set is coming. After all, we do have that 40th anniversary coming up…
UPDATE: Looks like The Clone Wars is staying put… For now.
Star Wars out this week: Doctor Aphra #4
There’s one new comic and two Vader-themed reprints up on the slate for Wednesday. The comic is Doctor Aphra #4, while the first reprint is the second hardcover volume of Marvel’s Darth Vader. The third item is the third Empire-oriented Legends collection.
