Call of the Colbert
Goodnight, SG-I
Stargate SG-1 has been cancelled. Honestly? I’m surprised it’s lasted as long as it has, because every year I think it’s over and it just keeps coming back anyway. Stargate Atlantis and (no doubt) many reruns will remain.
According to the article, it’s lasted longer than any “U.S.-produced sci-fi show. Ever.” Wow. Not even ST:TNG made it that far? Now I’m sad.
What else is new?
“Something big” is going to happen on Lost next season. In other shocking news, the grass is green, the sky is blue, and Darth Vader is Luke’s father.

Fresh fodder for the Sci-Fi Channel
The Sci-Fi Channel has picked up the rights to run Star Trek: Enterprise and several other canceled genre shows, including Kindred: The Embraced, Threshold, Wolf Lake, Haunted, and Jake 2.0. (Weren’t they already running Jake 2.0?) Also in on the deal are a pair of Stephen King miniseries, The Stand and The Langoliers.

For the win!
What does Picard do in his spare time, anyway? (Might be slightly NSFW, depending.)
Were you eating the dog’s food again?
Okay. Here’s one for the Stargate geeks out there gakked from GateWorld.
We are finally getting a sneak peek at David Hewlett‘s upcoming film A Dog’s Breakfast, starring, well, most of the casts of both Stargate shows.
Gee. That girl’s costume looks familiar….
…What?
Does the world really need more Stargate movies?
The sequels would steer clear of the TV show mythologies, Devlin added. “That’s right,” he said. “We would just continue the mythology of the movie and finish that out. I think the series could still live at the end of the third sequel. So we’re going to try to not tread on their stories.”
Um… Okay. Sure.
