While Alton Brown, favorite TV chef of many a CJer, has yet to dedicate an entire episode to our signature fruit, he does feature pineapples on the Good Eats episode, ‘Down & Out in Paradise’. Tune in for yourself by checking air times at the link.
Seeing the hope and courage on their bright little faces, I swear I could just, I… I could just eat ’em up.
Some of the politically minded folks here may enjoy The GOP primary field in Buffy villains. For the other half, Whedonesque is casting the Democrats.
Gate Geek – The Annual Teaser Poem is Out!
Last year, Stargate producer Joseph Mallozzi posted a teaser poem for the New Year to, well, torment those of us in the US having to wait an inordinate time for new episodes.
After much hassle from the fans, he’s done it again. Let the speculation begin!
Gate Geek: Oh…this is so cool!
Now this is fun. Edit your own greetings into a video clip from Stargate Atlantis.
Other sci-fi fandoms should take note!

If you can’t trust Christie’s, than who can you trust?
Apparently a super Trek fan was duped when he bought what he thought was the famous Next Gen poker setup from Christie’s Auction House. When he asked Brent Spiner (Data) to autograph the visor, Brent informed the poor guy that he had told Paramount that he had taken the only one used. But Paramount still sold them. (via)
These are the continuing lawsuits of the starship Enterprise…
Gate Geek – Happy Gatemas
So I got a little busy to post all the nifty little Stargate gifts we got for Christmas week. (Such a slacker.)
The Official Site added a bunch of content including:
– Mitch Pileggi finally returns to the Pegasus Galaxy after far too long an absence
– The sneak preview for Be All My Sins Remembered
– An interview with Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett about The Wraith.
Over on GateWorld, we find:
– An interview with Jason Momoa (Jason Momoa. Chewbacca. Separated at birth?)
– News of the chance to become part of Stargate Worlds through a new contest
– Details for The Ark of Truth DVD
And finally, a round-up of Christmas greetings from Stargate cast and crew:
– Michael Shanks
– David Hewlett (yes…that’s me he’s mentioning)
– David Nykl
– Producer Joseph Mallozzi

TV Round-Up
Dang. What am I going to watch over the summer, now?
USA Network has decided not to renew either The 4400 or The Dead Zone. You don’t suppose they’d be willing to do a movie to, oh, wrap up the cliffhangers, do you? ::sigh::
Oddly enough for a show that seems to be universally criticized, Bionic Woman is still alive and kicking. (For now.)
Those awaiting the return of Lost (which is so going to benefit from the lack of new programming) can catch a bit of spoilery video from E!’s Watch with Kristin.
Gate Geek – Videos and Treks
Catching up on life in Gate circles, here are a few tidbits to enjoy:
– Dr. Keller’s romantic life – A video in which Jewel Staite confirms that there’s just a wee bit of stuff going on between Keller and Ronon in the second half of the season. (It’s a hard life to be an actress.)
– Jewel makes another video appearance on SciFi with the release of Part 2 of her fan Q&A. A little stuff for the Firefly fans in there, as well.
– And after being snubbed for the role of Scotty in the upcoming Star Trek film, it appears that Paul McGillion (Dr. Beckett) actually ended up getting a small role. I’m sure it had a lot to do with his skills as an actor, but probably just a wee bit to do with the outrage caused by his snub. Either way, congratulations to Paul! (via)
– An actual quote from Paul regarding Star Trek, as well as the bootleg promotional video from SciFi teasing his return in Season 4.
Slayers on strike
LAist (via Slacktivist) has photos from Mutant Enemy Day on the Writers Guild picket lines. Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy employees, actors from Whedon’s shows and fans from around the world turned up in L.A. on December 7 to show their support for the striking writers.
Meanwhile, the Writers Guild has denied requests for waivers from producers of the Golden Globes and Oscars.
The strike is in its seventh week with no end in sight.
