Spoiler: It’s all footage from the trailer, but interesting that we’d be seeing this quite so soon.

Adam Savage goes undercover as Kylo Ren at SDCC
Mythbusters’ Adam Savage traditionally does some heavy-duty cosplay for San Diego Comic-Con, and this year one of his choices was Kylo Ren. Check out the video below, or his interview at StarWars.com.
Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver win Teen Choice Awards
Daisy Ridley was named the Breakout Star at the Teen Choice Awards last night, giving a shoutout to “her boy” John Boyega and debuting a new haircut. (Which could be for a non-Star Wars role, maybe The Lost Wife, as she’s mentioned being “employed again soon”.) Adam Driver wasn’t there, but he did win for Movie Villain for The Force Awakens.
Catching up with Rogue One: New Bodhi Rook picture
Lucasfilm shared a new picture of Riz Ahmed’s Bodhi Rook in Rogue One. Don’t forget to act surprised when his hairstyle prompts a new wave of theories as to Rey’s parentage!
→ Mads Mikkelsen says the film’s reshoots “will be done soon,” and calls director Gareth Edwards “a real actors’ man.”
→ Also making waves this week is some 100% official confirmations of who won’t be in Rogue One, as spotted by Star Wars Underworld.
Video: Star Wars publishing panel at SDCC
With most of the book news (for our purposes) dropping at Celebration – the authors of Catalyst and the Rogue One novelization and Thrawn – the SDCC panel was fairly light on news, but there was plenty of discussion.
There were two cover reveals, though: The Art of Rogue One and the back cover of Aftermath: Empire’s End, which you can see below.
The Art of cover was shared by StarWars.com today. You can also get a closer look at the Thrawn art at Two Dots’ Behance page.
The Force Awakens production company pleads guilty in accident that injured Harrison Ford
The Force Awakens production company, Foodles Production, has pled guilty in the hydraulic door accident that injured Harrison Ford during the filming of The Force Awakens. The weight of the door was compared to that of a “small car.”
Ford broke two bones in his left leg in the incident and was airlifted to a hospital. Foodles will be sentenced on August 22.
Rumor: Alden Ehrenreich signed for 3 films
The New York Daily News today reports that future Han Solo Alden Ehrenreich is signed for “at least” three films. With the Han movie supposed to be a standalone, this raises a few questions. But we should also note that multi-picture deals are fairly common among large franchises like Star Wars.
I doubt, for instance, that there are any solid plans for an actual Han-focused trilogy. But what if the third (or fourth, or fifth…) standalone turns out to be about, say, a young Lando Calrissian? It makes sense to sign your young Han actor now – just in case.
New Rogue One character revealed at SDCC
Among the displays at the Star Wars pavilion at San Diego Comic-Con was the costume of a previously unseen Rogue One character, Edrio Two Tubes. Here are his details:
Edrio Two Tubes is a mercenary pilot who flies alongside his eggmate, Benthic. The two share the nickname derived from the breathing apparatus that allows their Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres. Edrio’s home world Yar Togna was conquered and occupied by the Empire, forcing him to flee as a refugee. Desiring to strike back at the Empire, Edrio and Benthic have allied with Saw Gerrera.
